    Indian Act vs. CWB

Someone mentioned to me that there's a court case in Lethbridge where it's being argued that native Canadians should be able to market their board grains to the United States without going through the Canadian Wheat Board. Is there anything to this?

Yes. I believe a decision is expected this fall. I think they are arguing it is part of their historical trading zone and so the CWB has no jurisdiction

Do you think this could result in any beneficial outcomes to all Western Canadian grain producers?

Recently (mid Sept) the judge ruled that the individual was guilty of exporting barley into the US without an export license from the CWB. He received an absolute discharge.
