Any advice on high speed internet services?

I have heard that the high speed is better....any advice on suppliers?

    How is telus?

We are using xpornet with a pulse signal. Always up and fast enough. Had a line of sight dish to tower before. It was fast but unreliable. Telus only has dial up where I live. Slow and painful. In town my folks have telus high speed. Lots of issues with reliability and service. If you are in town your cable provider would be you best bet.

PER, can you elaborate on the pulse signal? How is that different from line of sight to a tower?

I am not an expert and only know what the tech that installed it passed on. The dish is a flat rectangle about 12" x 15" and mounts the same as a small satellite dish. The signal sends out pulses that reflect off structures and landscape. I am 15 km from the transmitter and the tech says my signal goes 21 km. In town it can easily double the distance from the transmitter. I just know that it works here better than the line of sight dish that we had previously. Both systems are quite fast for someone that is familiar withe the use of a Rolodex. They both will stream video or audio just fine.
