Some IT Tips you might be interested in...

We are writing some articles on IT for producers and here are some thoughts...

    I have a few suggestions.

NEVER open an email from anybody you don't know and don't open a FWD email from people you do.

NEVER believe a popup window saying you have a virus or more than one and it offers to get rid of them by just downloading their program.

NEVER let kids, brother in laws, etc. "fix" your computer unless they actually have a job in the computer repair store.

Go to pcworld.com maximumpc.com pcmag.com komando.com and check out their recommended utility software or games or internet software. There is a ton of free stuff and it works great.
AVAST, AVG are 2 free anti virus programs.

USE GOOGLE TO SEARCH for anything, don't add bargain buddy or search buddy or any extra toolbars. They are ALL unnecessary and just take up memory.

COMODO firewall or ZoneAlarm firewalls have free versions.

A-Squared Free gets rid of MalWare
    Microsoft Defender does too
    AdAware free too
Get SpywareBlaster (free) and it keeps you from going to dangerous sites.
Get McAfee SiteAdvisor free it lets you know if a site is unsafe.

Subscribe to the aforementioned magazines and read them.

Make backups of any pictures or documents you don't want to lose, you will eventually have a problem. Keep your CD's that came with your computer.
