I hear you now claim U.S beef is a health risk is that right.

According to the statistical analysts, US beef presents several hundred times less of a risk factor than Canadian cattle or beef....

Really Ot got something to back that statement up with..

Fact is Canada tests about 14 times the amt of cattle that the U.S does.

The U.S is the only country in the world.. that after discovering domestic B.S.E in its cowherd ...reduces testing. I quess they realize that as Ot said U.S beef is already a health risk and are too scared to find out the exact numbers of domestic cattle that are b.s.e infected in their country.

Or perhaps they now realize their whole testing program was a farce prior to the inspector general catching them trying to hide the diease

That is what the statisticians will testify to when it goes to court...Frenchie old boy- You have to go with the evidence and facts available-- the numbers tested- the numbers in the herd- the number of positives and the number of POST feed ban positives...I don't have the knowledge or the ability to do it- but the experts do. You can't just go out there and make things up....

Thats just like Canucks saying they have a working feedban-- and then 4 POST feedban positives show up...It can't be both working-- and all these cattle still becoming infected...

Thats the reason USDA said Canada will be finding positive cattle for the next TWENTY years....

But the U.S. won't, because it's not looking.

frenchie..Ot are you telling me you have diect knowledge of cattle still being infected...where were you at 4pm last Wednesday..were you anywhere near a cdn cowherd. can anyone vouch for your whereabouts ..

Seriously Ot Are you foolish enuff to believe that your feed ban is superior.esp considering the fact in 2003 the F.D.A found 1300 violations in your said feed ban.

The problem with your line of thought is it does not take into account the loopholes that legally exist in both our feed-bans

It also fails to take into account that Canada is testing a lot more cattle than the U.S and being completely open about its results.

frenchie-- You mention the loopholes that remain in both our countries feedbans... I agree- and there lies one of the main reasons that the US should not be importing cattle from a higher risk country...USDA has said from day one our strongest barrier against BSE is our quarantine/import rule...

Why should the US cattleman expose the US cattle herd to a higher risk-- when there is no gain.....

frenchie.. but you don,t know that Cdn cattle are higher risk ..You need to test at least 1400% more cattle to even match our testing rate or even the right type of cattle meaning the 4D,s
Further to that you need to let the inspector general do the testing she tells the truth.
