custom baling

We are just starting to bale and I am having a custom baler do some of our work. We will be making round bales that are in the 1500 lb. range and this is irrigated grass hay and we are located in Southern Alberta. I would like to know what the going rates are for this type of custom work.

According to the 2000 issue of the Farm Operations Cost Guide Alberta Agriculture puts out the most common charge in 1999 for custom baling of large round bales in southern Alberta was $7 - $8 the range was $6 - $10. Hope this helps.
