    Tough Barley

I may be forced to combine barley tough. Can anyone share their experience with tough barley, what worked and what didn't, how tough, steel bins, wood bins, piles etc. Also any problems with rolled tough barley keeping or with molds etc. Also most of this barley has wheat in it, as much as 25%.

Is there a feedlot close that would take it right off the combine-that would be best-if not I think i'd just pile it seems to be what the farmer's here are doing.

If you're planning on rolling it anyway, why not roll it right into a silage bag? It'll keep well in there. There's an outfit in Stony Plain that does custom bagging of high moisture barley. I believe they roll it right into the bag and will travel some distance to do it. Canadian Silage, not sure of the number.
