Friday crop report on a Thursday!

Test
SASKFARMER's Avatar May 25, 2023 | 05:16 1 Good morning, the push is on in SE and east central, the rest of the province is almost done.

No real rain event yet since seeding started but we had a ft of wet snow and a 1/2 in at beginning of May.

Total rain for the season is 8/10 not including the snow.

Guys still getting stuck and the wind has dried the surface but below it’s still good moisture.

I’m sinking poles on the sand ridge and it’s wet along way down.

Speaking of my sand ridge it’s down to 30 acres left, if we keep leveling and building on it soon it will be gone.

Trudeau manipulated an old man into thinking he was important then threw him under the bus like he always does. Johnston reputation is done.

The fertilizer companies can go **** them selves with a phos shortage. Plus this year we over paid for the product that’s ok but there is a ton of foreign shit in the product.

Oh a note to the guys who booked nitrogen and didn’t pay but think it’s ok to cancel and go elsewhere for product . You only get to do that once they will get us all for that.

Crop report.

We’re at 70% done but the provincial average is closer to 76%.

Peas are either up or popping out. All rolled. Some lentils coming up.

Wheat the early muddled in is finally coming up. Stuff seeded last Tuesday is up and moving on.

Barley is just poking out

Canola is just poking out or going in right now. Most seed canola last in our area.

Other crops it’s too soon to tell.

Rain event the next 4 days could slow progress.

Have a great week and stay safe. Reply With Quote

May 25, 2023 | 09:56 4 Our retailer screens the fertilizer as your blend is loaded into the loadout bin. Sure glad we don't have to deal with bits of concrete in our fertilizer, what the hell is that about.

In this area, seeding pretty much 100% done. Could use rain. Crops are emerging but slowly. Reply With Quote

Our 5710, other 8810's 8910's do EXACTLY the same job seeding cereals, for 5-10% of the value of new paralinks . Can't depreciate much more, soon overhead cost is ZERO.

Thanks for the promo. Reply With Quote

Definitely a huge change started last Monday for most western Canada Reply With Quote
jazz's Avatar May 28, 2023 | 06:58 29 Be a couple day halt on seeding here in parts of the SE. Got a couple good showers, a real light show and a tornado warning to boot. Reply With Quote
May 28, 2023 | 07:37 30 We finished on Wednesday. Really only one story here, very dry. The odd spotty shower has certainly helped out some. Pastures going backwards for the most part. Crops are coming up. Anything around here that was vertical tilled is showing very poor germ. Fortunately I don’t own one so I am never tempted. Hilly land southeast of me has some black hilltops. Really only rain will solve the problem. Reply With Quote
