May 24, 2023 | 07:47 31 Nothing but wind here. It tried to blow the roof off last night. Reply With Quote

May 24, 2023 | 15:23 33 Radar shows rain is in Western Sask, around Kindersley/Biggar Reply With Quote
jazz's Avatar May 24, 2023 | 17:17 34 Relentless SE wind for 2 days, not a drop in site.

60% done, fighting with gremlins on the drill past couple days.

Lots of acres to go around here yet. Reply With Quote

May 24, 2023 | 21:22 36 Most of the NE wrapped up last weekend
    Really strange for this area
Crops really up nice Reply With Quote

  • May 25, 2023 | 12:12 37 Got our first rain since the snow overnight, 6/10” in total. Perfect rain for germination, everything should pop out of the ground quickly now. Finished canola plots yesterday, now just a few wet acres that we missed earlier. Will anger the rain gods seeding potholes, hopefully bring on more precipitation. Reply With Quote

  • May 25, 2023 | 13:12 38 Had .4 tenths on Tuesday which was nice but now another 1.5 inches over night and this morning which has water pooling. Not what you want on canola seedlings. Reply With Quote
May 25, 2023 | 13:51 39 For the some of the driest areas of western Canada this rain , although variable will give those areas at least a chance of a crop
Many areas were incredibly dire as of 5 days ago.

Not to mention the forest areas in Alberta and Sask and those communities all through there .
Not a drought breaker ,but relief for a few weeks at least

May 25, 2023 | 15:12 40 for 'bertans, there's a neat tool here where you can check current rainfall vs historical.

    https://agriculture.alberta.ca/acis/weather-data-viewer.jsp

my area: typically we've gotten almost 2" from Apr 20 till now. This year just 1/2" to date. Reply With Quote
May 25, 2023 | 15:14 41 Too much already. It can stop anytime, can’t just get a nice half inch and be done for a week no it has to keep coming once it starts. Reply With Quote

We had 2 thunderstorms overnight gauge only showed 1/2 inch but sure looks like more first one came down so fast don’t think most of it registered in the gauge. Pouring again too. Reply With Quote
May 25, 2023 | 16:24 43 Rained most of the day and gauge shows 2 inches. Water running again!
Half inch would have been perfect.
Sun will come out one day and then the mosquitos will be out in full force. Reply With Quote

May 25, 2023 | 17:09 45 I have my knee pads on, heading out kneeling toward Mecca. 🙏 Very young Canola love a good soaking to get ahead of the flea beetles. The predictions went from 50 mm to 25 mm, now maybe 10. Reply With Quote

Blue versi, send that rain here. Our brother’s 1979, Steiger Tiger with Cummins 1150 and 6-speed Allison Automatic with torque converter, pulled a 60 foot Morris C2 flawlessly with only an oil change —— again. He seeded his home section with less than 300 gallons in really wet heavy gumbo, no recirculating, no re-exhaust just worry-free brute force, year after year. That tractor gotta take the prize! I wish I could share some. Water sitting in low spots and running down furrows in the hills now. A little moderation would be nice. We needed a little shot just to get things going but in this area sometimes it doesn’t know when to quit. 🤷 Reply With Quote
jazz's Avatar May 26, 2023 | 06:39 48 Maybe when the weather network and env Canada finish answering what is a woman they can work on what is rain.

Couple drops on the windshield doesn’t qualify neither does disappearing forecasts daily. Reply With Quote

May 28, 2023 | 08:36 54 Another thunderstorm and downpour last night, raining again now. This is getting ridiculous already. 6 days straight now of moisture. Water pooling, ducks waddling in the field. 23 inches last year could be easily broken if this keeps up. Reply With Quote
May 28, 2023 | 09:16 55 Beautiful storm last night at 1:09 a.m. Lots of noise came with about 1/2 inch. Perfect, TY Great Being✅ Reply With Quote
    blackpowder's Avatar May 28, 2023 | 09:51 56 Half inch 3 weeks ago.
Anything in before that or deeper after, has a great start.
Some rows seeded a week ago sitting in dust waiting. Moisture probe stops at 2'. Missed the last two often wet weekends.
    Hopefully comes through the next.
If we need 6" minimum in June alone, it better start.
Checkbook closed until further notice. Reply With Quote

    We must be neighbors.
Sounds just like what’s going on here.
Gets a little frustrating! Reply With Quote
May 28, 2023 | 14:04 59 It's dry here, no doubt about it. Lawn almost turned green a couple of weeks ago when we got 1/4 inch. Back to ugly brown. Cereals and peas look alright. Peas were four nodes, so sprayed them. The first field of canola we seeded two weeks ago, 3/4 - 1 inch, just sitting there. I quit looking after that. But I am taking the day off, first time in a long time. Bike ride this morning, pickleball this afternoon, a guy has to have a life. Let's hope everyone gets the weather they need. Reply With Quote

  • blackpowder's Avatar May 28, 2023 | 14:53 60 Grass stalling out here. Forecast dryed right up. Too early to call. But planning for the worst. Which is a crop just at coverage you have to fight to get off haha. If it doesn't rain by a certain date I don't want any.....
Looks like we're out of system season and into isolated storm season for rain already.
