    Equalization

Imagine our premiers signing on to a program like this that they have no say or control over and the govt doesnt even bother to consult them. I mean we consult every native band or enviro-yahoo when we want to do anything in this country, but legal jurisdictions involved in the backbone of this confederation are just ignored.

These guys just couldnt foresee pure evil occupying our countrys leadership and now here it is and we have no cheques and balances on it.

Why didn't Harper and Kenney change equalization if it was so bad for Alberta?

Because federal elections aren't won in Alberta.

No because there was no good case against a federal program that uses federal tax dollars to help provinces without a large taxable natural resource sector provide similar services and programs to those who do.

Alberta has the highest GDP per capita in Canada. So they are not suffering any hardships because of a federal program! LOL

I thought Justin was going to transition oil workers to EVs and the green economy chuck. Turns out he took a bunch of oil equalization cash and bought the UAW some jobs in southern ontario at $4.5m a a piece.

So many great new jobs that we had to pay $13B to buy them. That plant will fail in a couple yrs and that subsidy will be gone from the country.

Stop with the equalization is paid by taxes garbage. Everyone with a brain knows what it is.

Do you know a surefire way to equalize the GDP per CAPITA? Move the people to where the GDP is produced. It will simultaneously increase the total GDP, while lowering the GDP per capita in the high areas, and raising it in the low areas. We are screaming for labour out west.

Skilled Labour is short many places across Canada with an unemployment rate of 5%.

But how are you possibly short labour in Alberta? I thought Trudeau killed the oil indsutry! LOL

Equalization is gamed by socialism vs capitalism. Thats why there is a formula attached to it.

If it was a tax, it would be a flat percentage number but its not.

If natives want a share of resource revenue, I am thinking equalization should goto them for economic development.

Well then in that case, apparently there is no more need for equalization. With unemployment level that low, it Sounds like the rest of Canada is doing very well. Jobs for everyone, wealth creation, tax receipts. No need for charity or redistribution.

Oh wait a minute. The only reason why the unemployment level is that low is because of all of the newly created government positions competing with the dwindling remaining private sector, and all of the people unwilling to work when the government pays them to stay at home instead. Both of which require massive wealth transfers from those who still work in wealth producing industries.

Alberta must collect our own taxes justlike Quebec does….

                              Even the playing field…

                              Blessings and Salutations!
