    Q-bec beef producers get radical

    Dissatisfaction of the bovine producers

    laterre.ca November 11, 2004

If the government of Quebec does not do anything to support the producers with the catches with the crisis of the insane cow, a hundred cows could be cut down with the Saguenay-Lake-Saint-Jean.

The stockbreeders of this area decided to take the great means to be made hear Liberals. They plan to cut down a hundred cows publicly, then to hide them in a pit, with Saint-Bruno. Their action is scheduled for next 2 December, that is to say at the end of general Congress of the Union of the agricultural producers. However, a final decision should be made Thursday evening in Alma. Last year, the producers of the Saguenay-Lake-Saint-Jean had caused a whole agitation while cutting down a cow and its calf in front of the cameras.

A little everywhere in province, the dissatisfied producers prepare other blows of glare. The echoes imply that bovines could be abandoned in front of the offices of certain deputies. Moreover, in October 2003, of the farmers had made gift of four cull cows at the office of the Minister for Agriculture. One year later, the stockbreeders made a gift similar to the deputy the Roberval one, Karl Blackburn. The purpose of all these demonstrations are to convince the government to establish a bottom price for the bovines of reform.

For its part, the deputy of the democratic Action in Beauce-North, Gurnard January, shows the Liberals to have shown inaction in the file of the crisis of the insane cow. According to its calculations, the government would have made lose 400 M$ with the producers of bovines of Quebec.

One thing about a Frenchman is they know how to stand up for themselves! Maybe we need to import a few to put some backbone into our ABP?
I wonder how it would go over if we shot about 100 cows on the legislative grounds in Edmonton? About two days before the election?

If we shot those cows I bet they would still end up counted on the conservitave side of the ballot on nov 22.
