No Evidence Poilievre himself has ever been anything other than funded by government

Letter to the Editor Globe and Mail

Re “Conservatives ask Twitter to label CBC accounts as ‘government-funded’ media” (April 13): Pierre Poilievre’s desire to have the CBC declared a government-funded source seems more than a little ironic.

He should start with a look in the mirror. I see no evidence that Mr. Poilievre himself has ever been anything other than funded by government.

Simple reality Chuck2 is the CBC is publicly funded by our tax dollars. Therefore it should be an unbiased source of news. Anybody with a functioning brain can see that the CBC is biased. Reading articles on the CBC for the most part are attacks on right of centre views and promotion of the Liberal and NDP agenda. Now while certainly Pierre Poilievre has been an MP for many years his job is to be partisan as he works for the Conservatives. There was a time when I had some respect for the CBC when People like Knolton Nash anchored the national news cast. Now with people like Rosemary Barton on the National I refuse to watch it, that simple.

Not much use arguing about the CBC with most Conservatives who think Fox news is unbiased or that Rebel News is a source of the real news! LOL

The only news that many conservatives support is the news that support their political views. They don't want to hear other points of view. Kind a like agrislly! LOL

The CBC asks too many hard questions. And Poilievre along with Daniel Smith don't want to answer hard questions!

That letter to the editor makes a good point. What real world experience does Poiliievre have outside of taxpayer funded politics? Not much.

Case in point. "Canada should become the crypto currency capital of the world and this will solve inflation"! That dumbass idea has disappeared from his speeches!

The CBC especially went downhill when they hired notable "left winger" wind bags like Rex Murphy, Kevin O'Leary and Don Cherry.

It's funny how the liberals always bring up the crypto-currency argument against Pollievre. That really is all they have , and it's getting old already.

Time to admit that their leader , a self appointed " boy king" is a complete idiot that has no real credentials other than the fact that his daddy was a prime minister. He is a spoiled rich, entitled child who has never worked one day in his life.

Time for Ontario to wake up and realize that Justin isn't doing them any more good than the rest of the country.

But the "press is the enemy of the people" types like yourself were complaining about the CBC and the MSM long before the notable "left wingers" moved on. LOL

Out of all the cartoons you keep posting, this one is by far my favorite. It completely contradicts the message you think you are conveying with it. There's four communists, one former communist, one national socialist, one former Democrat, and only one right wing politician. If you can call anyone from California right wing. If you do that cartoon again today, you could add Trudeau and Biden and zelensky and Aldern to the list
All of whom attempted to, or succeeded in controlling the press, what do they all have in common politically?

                      CBC is a health hazard.

If my wife makes me listen to CBC on the way to town for physio my blood pressure goes up 25 points.

I used to be a big fan of the cbc. The radio was set to CBC more often than anything else. I was slowly losing interest during the Trump years, and completely stopped listening during covid.
I'm a big boy, I can handle information or opinions which conflict with my world views. In fact I welcome that, that's why I regularly engage with you on here.
But listening to CBC got to be an insult to Canadians intelligence.
Quirks and quarks, as it happens, all of the comedy programming, cross country checkup, under the influence etc were all must listens for me.

I understand their desire to spread the gospel. But I don't understand is what purpose it serves when they went so far off the deep end that they lost any of their audience who wasn't as beyond hope indoctrinated as Chuck is. Wouldn't they have been better off preaching a moderate religion to a large audience rather than an extremist religion to very small minority of hardcore liberals who have their mind made up regardless what they hear on cbc?

At one time I would have supported continuing to fund CBC radio at least. Now it most definitely should be defunded. Which is not the same as demanding they be silenced or canceled. Let the consumers vote with their wallets, not our tax dollars.

A bought-off press is the most despicable enemy of mankind. Better to have no press but free social media.
