  • Apr 9, 2023 | 08:36 32 I see Danny Smith changed her story again! How many times is this? So many we have lost track! LOL

Not only that she calls out the Pastor for his extreme views! Oh the UCP comedy routine just keeps getting better.

"Oh Danny Girl the stories, the stories keep a changin. From Glen to Glen, the cities are a callin" Sung to the music of Danny Boy

Alberta premier gives new reasons why she contacted accused before criminal trial
    Edmonton, alberta, canada

    Published Yesterday

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has delivered a new version of why she engaged in a controversial phone call with a Calgary street pastor in which they discussed his upcoming criminal case related to COVID-19 public health measures.

Smith told her weekly phone-in radio show Saturday that she took the call from Art Pawlowski because she thought it was going to be in the context of his role as the leader of another political party.

She said when the discussion veered into Pawlowski’s court case, she simply reminded the former head of the Alberta Independence Party that she had tried to gain amnesty for COVID accused but was told by justice officials the cases must play out independently, and that she accepted that advice.

She also said she disagrees strongly with Pawlowski’s “extreme views.”

“When we talked, I thought we were talking in the context of him being a political party leader because (Pawlowski) was at the time the head of the Independence Party,” Smith told her Corus radio audience on her show “Your Province Your Premier” in response to a question from the host.

“It turned into a discussion about what I was doing with COVID amnesty. Reply With Quote
Apr 10, 2023 | 07:34 33 Pastor Art has been breaking many laws and getting into trouble for a long time before covid.

He thinks laws only apply to everyone else but not him. He was inciting violence in Coutts even after most of the protestors made an agreement with the RCMP.

He's the the type of Convenient Christian who lecture everyone on freedom and morals, but then thinks it's okay to ignore laws and take away the freedom of others to cross the border for business. He wants everyone live their life according to his distorted christian values and rules. He spreads hate in stead of love.

With his record of convictions and ignoring laws and rules he will be likely convicted in the latest case. An so he should be.

    Wikipedia:
"In January 2010, the Canada Revenue Agency revoked the charitable status of Pawlowski's Kings Glory Fellowship, citing a lack of financial transparency and deeming the organization to be political in nature and the church's stance on abortion, homosexuality, divorce, and other moral issues.[2][3] Lack of clarity on how the organization spent its money was also cited as a reason for its charitable status being revoked."

"In 2014, Pawlowski was fined for his attempt to participate in the 2012 Calgary Stampede parade with his followers without official permission."

On October 13, he was sentenced for his earlier CPHO conviction, receiving a $23,000 fine and 18 months of probation.[28] His probation conditions include being ordered to obey public health orders, to remain in Alberta, and to explain whenever they speak publicly that their views are contrary to public health experts and scientific consensus. He was also required to pay Alberta Health Services' estimated $20,000 legal costs.

"On 2 January 2022, Pawlowski was arrested on Crowchild Trail and "charged with one count of breaching a judge's order that restrained [Pawlowski] from attending any illegal public gathering".[34] Authorities "confirmed a protest took place at Health Minister Jason Copping’s home on Saturday afternoon".[35] The bail judge imposed "conditions that [Pawlowski has] no contact with Copping and [does] not attend his residence" while he waited for a trial on the merits.[34]"

"Pawlowski was arrested on 7 February 2022 at the Coutts, Alberta border crossing blockade after encouraging protesters to back out of an agreement they had made with RCMP to leave the area.[36] The protesters were demanding the lifting of vaccine mandates for cross-border truckers, as well as the lifting of other pandemic-related public health restrictions. Pawlowski gave a speech to protesters in Coutts a week earlier, saying that "for freedom to be preserved, people must be willing to sacrifice their lives. This is our time." He was charged with mischief over $5,000 and interrupting the operation of essential infrastructure under Alberta's Critical Infrastructure Defence Act.[36]" Reply With Quote
Apr 10, 2023 | 07:53 34 Artur is a criminal and he is going to jail. And on judgement day he will be judged for his hate and inciting violence.

He is not above the law of the land. Reply With Quote
Apr 10, 2023 | 08:07 35 Who are the "evil lefts"? People who follow science, the law and public health orders and don't consider themselves above the law? LOL

Or you mean Premier Jason Kenney who called Danny Smith and her followers "the loony's taking over the asylum"! Reply With Quote

  • Apr 10, 2023 | 08:39 38 Glad to see you support Marthin Luther King one of the fathers of the Black Lives Matter and civil rights movement against racism.

Martin Luther King would have believed in public health measures and vaccines to protect not just the individual, but the community. He stood up for freedom and equality. Something a lot of antivaxers like Pastor Art don't really believe in.

If you think Martin Luther King would support what the black lives matter movement has morphed into, you might want to study some history. Reply With Quote

Not hard to figure out that pastor Artur Pawlowski had a big part in helping Smith get to that 54% she received in her convincing victory. So now the Pastor is calling in his marker.

Pastor Pawlowski was controlling the disruptive Coutts Border Blockading sheepies who were preventing hard working rural Albertans from doing their daily business.

I guess marketing grain wasn't a priority at the time for those farmers participating at the Coutts blockade, and they obviously could careless that they were preventing other farmers from moving their commodities over to the USA at Coutts either. Reply With Quote

So, with the benefit of hindsight, you are now recommending that farmers should have been marketing their grain back in January, early February of last year. Just before the historic run up.

How much do you charge for your marketing service? Reply With Quote

  • Apr 11, 2023 | 07:26 46 It's kind ironic all those farmers for just us libertarian types wanted the border open for marketing their wheat under the CWB but then a decade later shut it down with an illegal blockade at Coutts. LOL

A5 was there. How does a libertarian justify taking away the rights of businesses and individuals to cross the border because they disagree with public health policy in Canada and the US?

We can't wait to hear the absurd explanation about to come from our resident hypocrite troll. Reply With Quote

  • Apr 11, 2023 | 08:16 48 But you still think its okay to complain about all the health care closures and restrictions and then illegally close the border yourself? LOL

Apr 14, 2023 | 05:12 50 Sounds like Calgary Pastor Artur Pawlowski and the Take Back Alberta gang who gave Smith the overwhelming 54% victory have her by the short and curlies.

No wonder Smith is so concerned about the Coutts Border Blockade gang having their charges dropped.

Maybe the Agrivllle Coutts Border Blockade participant and calls himself a Libertarian is on Smith's speed dial as well.

    Very entertaining.

Yes and that's why the "tyrants" shouldn't politically interfere in the justice system by asking prosecutors to drop the charges and by talking to the accused who broke numerous laws and court orders.

The worst tyrants are the ones who jail, poison or kill their opposition. Like Putin.

But the lesser tyrants like Smith will interfere and then deny it.

I am glad to hear you didn't support the illegal blockades Reply With Quote

Apr 15, 2023 | 06:59 53 I see Danny Smith is trying hard to to lose the election and giving the NDP an easy pitch. It's a clear sign of weak leader who can't defend herself or her policies and wants to hide from tough questions.

Is this her Kim Campbell moment?

"An election is not the time to discuss serious issues" Yes Kim Campbell said something like that during the 1993 campaign and went on to lose badly after 5 months as an unelected Prime Minister.

Now Smith doesn't want to answer more than one question from reporters. Asked why, she replied, “It’s an election, that’s why." LOL

"Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, four days after announcing she won’t answer questions on her ethics investigation, says she will limit questions on all other topics.

Ms. Smith told reporters in Calgary Friday that she will only allow reporters to ask a single question at news conferences and not allow them the traditional followup query.

“Leaders take questions – it’s part of the job,” NDP Leader Rachel Notley said on social media.

“If Danielle Smith isn’t willing to explain herself to Albertans, she shouldn’t be premier. Albertans deserve better.”

Former Calgary mayor Naheed Nenshi also weighed in on social media.

“Folks, this is really wrong,” said Mr. Nenshi. “This was a government announcement, not an election announcement.

“It’s part of the job to answer questions no matter how tough – why I scrummed almost daily. Not answering means you’re either hiding something or your staff are scared of what you’ll say.”

Some political scientists said Ms. Smith is making the change to avoid accountability, particularly given the recent controversy over her phone call with Calgary street pastor Art Pawlowski about his then-upcoming criminal trial.

They said followup questions to politicians are crucial, as they are typically used to clarify gaps or assumptions or to challenge, if necessary, the content of the first answer.

  • May 3, 2023 | 06:28 54 AB5's mentor and Coutts Border Blockade supervisor Pastor Artur Pawlowski was found guilty of mischief for encouraging the Sheepies to continue blocking the Canada-U.S. border crossing.

The bragging so called Libertarian had no problem following Pawlowski's orders in preventing fellow rural Albertans from conducting their daily business.

I guess in AB5's mind he gets a hall pass as Smith was on Pawlowski's side as well. Reply With Quote

They are good at making up lame excuses for fellow law breakers who get caught.

And then they think its okay for politicians to give them a pardon. LOL

If the pastor was feeding the hungry great. But more likely he was spending his time and money attacking public health measures designed to prevent disease and suffering amongst the homeless, poor and hungry.

But you don't seem to mind that Conservative governments cut social assistance, addictions and mental health programs in the name of balancing the budget?

A lot of Conservatives like to blame the individual and underfund programs that would help homeless people find homes and help.

If you are such a strong advocate for the homeless, then lets hear your plan for providing housing and food. Reply With Quote
