Yes but you know why Kinder Morgan walked on the project. Still a terrible idea for Trudeau to go all balls in on such a project. Talking with guys in on the project it is not the most efficiently allocated project so no wonder it’s so over budget. Any time governments are directly in control of business you know it will go that way. Far as resource revenues I’m with you on the people should have a fair share of it. Guess the question I pose you is what is fair for everyone which encourages companies to take the risk? You are anti hydrocarbons and spare me your ***$ing rhetoric. I’m talking about everything like metals etc. I’ve wondered if these resources are value added here that the companies are treated more favourably in royalty structures vs it being shipped out raw. Same with renewable producers if they turn profits irrespective of government subsidies and tax breaks what is fair as compensation for their impact? Abject corporate welfare or government choosing winners and losers is gross and all government is guilty of it.

Equalization is a federal program paid for by federal taxes collected in all provinces not just Alberta. Alberta does not pay anything to any other provinces.
Alberta does pay a lot of federal taxes at the same rate as every other Canadian or corporation only because they have the highest wages and highest per capita GDP in the country because the oil industry is super profitable and very large in Alberta. It sucks to be rich and well off and pay a lot of taxes. Poor Alberta!
Alberta has the largest per capita fiscal capacity. Manitoba, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, and Ontario will all receive equalization in 2023 because their fiscal capacity is lower than Alberta's, Saskatchewan, BC, and Newfoundland. All provinces endowed with significant oil reserves and other profitable resources.
"Equalization ensures that provincial governments have sufficient revenues to provide reasonably comparable levels of public services at reasonably comparable levels of taxation".
Crypto Polly is not running on ending the equalization program. He may tweek it like Harpo did, but he will never get rid of it.
But don't let that stop you from spreading lies and misinformation about a federal program that is not based on Alberta paying other provinces!
