    Direct marketing wheat

Some Aussie guys managed a 35,000 tonne shipment top job well done.

Two farmers join forces to put together and export a 35,000-tonne bulk shipment of milling wheat to Oman in what could be a first for the industry.

Agreed. There is far more to it than we think. Luckily they have a delivery/loading ability to mitigate that risk area.
Many factors make it far more difficult here. Good on em.

In 2014 a chinese brewer met with about 60 interested farmers with idea of direct selling.

Progressed alittle until about 4th meeting when brewer "off the cuff" said there will be quality checks along the way and if barley falls out of spec at unloading last 15% maybe negoitated.

Was 85% payment last 15% 60 days after vessel sails.

Never got off the ground after that day

that "threat" eroded the premium of doing it as a farmer co-operative.

I believe a group in West Aust did one shipment about 6 years ago wasnt another one no idea why not

other things we do here occasionally.

10 or 15 farmers say who have lets say 4000 t in total of same grade at same bulk handling facilities will get together and go to trade with the parcel.

often pick up $10 to 15 more but market volatile nowadays compared to say 6 years ago that selling option rarely used. But tonnes still collated by famers concerned even this year.

But you just "let" traders know its there awaiting correct strike price they make offers all the time.

Again tad different than you guys you logitically so so different and impossible for you to do.
