Total wind generation in the province now down to 25 MW. Only three wind farms producing anything the rest are all zero.
And this isn't an exception. This is what happens every time it gets cold and demand spikes.
    details guys, FFS!
you know the climate change rules

Brought in power 1 mile off the highway..New poles and large line.
Wonder why he didn't just put up solar panels?

The latest discussion on windmills, is that the blades throw off micro plastics from wear against wind and rain, and that these plastics are spread over a large area.

A DISPUTE over the amount of microplastics shed from the edges of wind turbine blades when exposed to wind and rain is continuing after a group of Norwegian campaigners claimed that recent reassura…

You are just too close to the equator. If we could make the world spin a little faster we would likely moderate the temperatures. Shh, don’t give the Envirocrazies any more ideas.

Saw a cartoon of what happens when Santa has his lights on low beam and fly's into a wind turbine, if the kids see that, they will be protesting in Ottawa and the stompin' horses will be called out again.

Oh yeah, it must be the shortest day of the year and time for the flat earth climate change deniers to come out and tell us its really cold and that solar and wind don't work in stagnant cold air masses. This is news? LOL

But there are 364 other days in the year and you never seem to bring up amount of generation on the days when the wind is blowing and sun is shining.

Did your power and natural gas go out? Probably not right. So what are you complaining about? Just more whining and sniveling about how bad you have it in Alberta? Cry us a river.

This article in the Vancouver Sun had some very interesting information:”Hydro reports record power usage.” From the article: B.C. Hydro preliminary analysis on Monday night found consumption between 5-6pm reached an all time record 10800 megawatts. This is where it gets interesting. Fortis BC—which competes with BC Hydro with its natural gas offerings, estimated it provided 20120 megawatts of equivalent energy between 5 and 6 pm.

Think about that, in Justin Trudeau’s and Stephen Guilbeault’s fossil fuel free world B.C.’s electrical grid would need to triple in size and that is without taking in to account what will be required to power all these electric vehicles the government is subsidizing and mandating into existence. Interesting numbers!!

Well Chuck2 I look forward to your response to my post about BC’s numbers. BC is predominantly hydroelectric power. But look at site C dam, it will be over 15 years from conception to predicted completion.Getting new hydro on line is a very slow process but Justin Trudeau wants us all on electric heat and driving electric cars. Looking at BC’s numbers, how will that work? I am curious, am I a flat earth climate change denier? I look at actual numbers, I would say you are the denier because you you refuse to acknowledge the truth LOL!

One more thing Chuck2, it is -32 with a -47 windchill, wind is 26 kmh gusting to 39 kmh yet at 7:57 am Alberta’s windmills were pumping out a whopping 112 megawatts out of a potential 3618. How can this be? The wind is blowing, wind power as you state is one of the cheapest sources of electricity, why isn’t it producing? Personally I am baffled, maybe they are frozen solid lol!

It is well known that as many things are electrified, generation capacity and the distribution system will have to be expanded dramtically.

And it will be a transition over time, not done all at once. So you can relax you are not going to freeze in the dark.

But don't let that stop you from telling us how bad your imaginary future will be. Especially if your preferred right wing populist Alberta centric politicians aren't in power! LOL
