Documentary on Maritime beef farming post-BSE on Land and Sea after Country Canada this afternoon.

It was actually a pretty good program and gave a good explanation as to what the Coop wants to accomplish. They are looking at everyone in the system benefitting from the knowledge gained and the money to be made, if there is any to be made. They have a retailer on board and are trying to get a couple of others on board as well.

They aren't trying to go big, or to take on the big giants, which of course would likely spell certainly doom if attempted.

Instead, what they are focussing on is providing a consistent product and the ability for a small plant to be able to readily and willingly adapt to changing consumer demands.

They are working together with faith that they will see this become a reality.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could accomplish the same things out here in the West? Watching how this unfolds in the coming months will be very interesting indeed.
