I started this project about a week ago, organizing my toolbox. After seeing your post I googled toolbox widgets, certainly some ideas there I hadn’t thought of like the organizer that holds 14 pairs of pliers. Will have to do some measuring in my toolbox now lol.

Just used them in a new steel tool bench. Not a portable. Seem fine. Magnet appears strong enough if that's what you're worried about.
Each one slotted. So number snapped together is whatever and box comes with slotted blanks for spacers

I like these . Easy to take with you .
Can hang on pegboard and easy to see if you have everything.

The smaller ones are the handiest.
        Get them from Amazon.
Huge amount of stuff on Amazon under tool organizers.

Here is a tool that a recently bought that I did not know how I lived without. Im sure you run into stuck seized nuts and bolts. Sometimes in bad spots where oxy/acetelene is too risky. This thing is a life saver. 6 to 10 seconds the nut is smokin hot and off it comes.

This is the best thing I ever built
            Metric one side
            SAE other
Roll it wherever working in shop
            Wasn’t hard to make either

And that folks is what a clean shop looks like👍

It is good for the sanity to get it like that once a year tho.

I just spent dough on better lights and wiring.
A colony makes Diamond Industries copies for tool benches and cabs if you can't. Same price tho.
Not cheap but don't even consider anything less.

Now if only I had poured full concrete and insulated it when we built it 38 years ago 🤣🤣🤣. At least we have 18' hi doors 🤷

JD dealer here had some a few years back. Dunno who made. Exactly their purpose.
I put a DECKED in one truck.
Pros- Tough. Put a full pallet on top np. Weatherproof.
Cons- stays in truck. Front compartment in drawers only partially accessible as drawers only slide part way out. So long stuff only.
If on budget have just had used Greenlee boxes riding around.

                      Great idea.
And being able to move not only the tools, but also the workbench etc right to the job is the best part.

I always had a toolbox small enough to be able to roll it right into wherever I was working, and drag it from one side or end to the other, or even under a hoist, or outside, so everything was within arms reach, and also got put away as immediately that way. And organized so that I could(one man lift) take the top box to the field and have most everything I need in there.

Now whenever I'm in a shop, I see all the mechanics have boxes so big that they aren't even portable anymore, they just line them up along the back wall, and spend all day walking back and forth the get tools. Just doesn't seem efficient to me.

Great unit. Planning to pour concrete in our other shop and this would be such a great idea for there. Biggest problem is tools which disappear from the shop. I try to keep a set of everything that doesn’t leave and a set for around the yard. Then I have the set on my work truck. The yard tools are the junk.
