This is about all they haven’t got, or should I say the investors.
Must have been a lucrative amount for them to walk away.

Why don’t we just sell the entire province to Monette farms and get it over with?

But what about all the other BTOs using expansion to secure agristability money to fund their purchases?

Are you not being a little discriminatory?

But it's been government policy and by extension industry that has been promoting this consolidation.

The funny thing is when or if this goes south the government will back the shortfall.

Why else is the premier sitting in Monette boardroom praising their operation ?

Care to explain this a little further Bucket ? I thought I understood changes to your land base or changes in your business structure were to be taken in to account.

Thats interesting insight because mostly likely these companies are also posing as fronts for foreign money and control at the point of sale both crop and our inputs.

                  It should concern us all.

Maybe this is a hail mary play. The BTO game is normally to capture inflation as interest rates drop. More acres inflating. A la the 1980's, when inflation is displaced by deflation, which happens when interest rates RISE then the game don't work no more. So now we need to fatten margins. This involves value added so we try to market direct to the end user. We then find that the downstream game is tough. Next is a call to Ritchie Bros. Will be a spectacular auction.

Back in the 80s banks got the jitters and called loans on perfectly solvent companies. Sherwood Coop in Regina was a stage for some of the auctioned Regina businesses. Why did they call them? Because they could. Most loans are demand loans and they can demand them for any reason, even if the reason is, “we got cold feet”.
