What's next? This is getting out of hand

    CBC headline.

Young Canadians launch court challenge to lower federal voting age from 18

I know people that are in their 50s that shouldn't be allowed to vote. Because their parents are still writing the cheques for them.

    This is just phucking stupid.

And a waste of court time.

And this is marketing , why, because I don't want 13 year olds affecting my family's livelihood . Greta did enough damage.

If you can legally drive you can vote will be the next thing. Kids now a days can hardly make their minds up on anything. They can’t even wear the same colored socks to school.

Exactly what the liberals are hoping for.

Scariest thing is some of these kids will be running the country someday. 😟

Might work in favour of some. Some of staunchest most vocal conservatives I know are teenagers repeating their parents. Could help boost the numbers if liberal kids aren’t so rabid.

Personally think it’s a dumb idea though. The handful of teenagers I’ve ever met with a firm grasp of politics and actual ability to make an informed choice is minute. Let them deal with the issues they can’t avoid, like hormones and high school.

I'll bet no one has ever said that ever before throughout history.

I wouldnt be worried about the kids. There are plenty of socialist seniors voting too. Govt pensions have a way of turning older folks that way too.

Just open a pot store near every polling station and you will solve that problem.

Yes, after posting that, I realized that our current crime minister comes from my generation, so whoever predicted dire consequences of my generation taking over the reigns was correct.

Can someone explain the term Socialist for me.

While I see alot of people that think they are capitalists, for some reason their funding comes from the government.

                    Air Canada.
                    Bell.
                    Telus.
                    PIC companies that get funding
                    Steel Companies

                    Auto companies

All funding that gets distributed to shareholders through dividends. Even a conservative MP made mention of Telus dividend and government support in the house .

                    Etc etc etc.

                      Socialist:

A farmer who uses the government subsidized crop insurance they bought into as a security measure and applies for government assistance when programs are available.

                      Capitalist:

A farmer who doesn’t need to use their crop insurance for the year or has no assistance programs to apply to.

I see what you are saying. And do wish there was a better way without government programs.

Everything doubles as soon as government gets into the process. Whether it is administration for the purpose of tracking everyone or funding.

A water well or livestock equipment is my recent questions but the funding comes with another number to track or rules that have essentially been in place on my farm fro years without government dictating them.

                            Farmers have many numbers
                            There is Crop Insurance Number
                            Agristabily number
                            Premise ID number
                            Agriinvest has a number
                            SIN number
Number for the recent cattle payment
                            CCIA number

And yet if you want to do things at your own pace it seems you are at a disadvantage.

So what do you call a farmer who advocates against government programs of any sort including subsidized crop insurance, but accepts that it is necessary to partake of the same programs he campaigns against, in order to remain competitive with his fellow farmers who are taking advantage of said programs.
What good is a one man stand?
I still remember when the Alberta report news magazine decided to put their money where their mouth is and quit accepting the subsidies for media, and went out of business shortly thereafter.
