There was a drought due to climate change program last week on bluesky on CBC.
Les phoned in to give a dissenting opinion and a sientific explanation and they hung up on him.
Les had incomparable respect among his peers.
I try not to listen to CBC anymore but they do have past episodes available. May try to suffer thru that one.

No disenting opinions allowed. The science is settled even if the scientist don't agree.

With yesterday's rain I think we are now ahead of last year's total for May-Aug.

In the last 4 days we received 3.5” with no end in sight, no luck on the hail but at least we’re adding a bit of moisture for next year’s crop. I’m just hoping that all this moisture won’t start the canola stubble to green up and start flowering again, been there and done that in 2002. Sure could of used this weather pattern in early July.

Canola getting close to cutting now, nervous as hell about getting hail, even a small amount would put it all on the ground. Can't possibly insure canola at $20 plus per bushel unless you're growing less than 10bus/ac.

                      Sunny here this morning.

                      Looking green and wet.

                      Won't be any harvest today.

Lots of Canola left standing. Some to the west where they reseeded looks heavy but GREEN.

Cooler than normal and wet forcast.

Worms came up on the sidewalks here after the rain.

                            First time this year.
Probably first time moisture went down more than a few inches.

There was a fall where the ground was moving with salamanders. Guess we are not that wet yet. (About 2 1/2 inches in last eight days.) This harvest will need added heat and aeration unless we leave it in the field but the forecast is ominous. Guess we’ll go with the motto, “ If it flows, let’s go.” 70 % chance of showers Monday night then 30% for another day, one of these times even the Regina Block won’t save us. 😂🐎
