I know some of the first group from both cities and they're getting vaccinated. Please explain to me how not taking a vaccine that doesn't protect anybody else from contracting covid from you is selfish.

Then think about how making someone take that same vaccine to make you feel safe is selfish. Reply With Quote

First off, no one is MAKING anyone take a vaccine. Health officials are ASKING people to get vaccinated. I don't need to FEEL safe, my wife, who is fighting a dangerous blood cancer and has virtually no immunity (after treatment her white count and nutrifils are low) needs to BE safe. Her oncologist has told us that Covid would take her. We almost lost her to pneumonia 2 years ago and Covid is more dangerous. It's not just a cold or flu as some would suggest.

Your first statement is harder to address because we already disagree on whether a vaccine would protect anybody else from contracting Covid. I believe they will and that's that.

As far as selfish? Listen to yourselves. Your statements are all about your rights, your arm, your this or that. Despite the fake crap posted here hospitals are overwhelmed, still coping but overwhelmed. Canadian Forces called in to assisting parts of the nation. How many elective surgeries are cancelled because of Covid pressure? One was too many. Is it selfish to not chose vaccination and continue to put people at risk whether cancelled surgeries or at risk people? Damn right it is.

There seems to be some weird thinking that you're only conservative or right of center if you oppose vaccines. If you choose vaccines you're a Karen or a Trudeau lover. Websites run by dingbats rule the day with wacky theories being swallowed by the gullible.

Like I said it's your choice. Take the vaccine or not but look with clear eyes and mind at your decision. Don't base it on fake horseshit, or a demon pastor from Steinbach's words, or a Holocaust denier trying for his 15 minutes of fame. And, just once, think about someone else. Reply With Quote

  • Apr 29, 2021 | 17:37 36 Braveheart, Great Post I can relate to your family situation.

My wife had breast cancer at a very early age, and her immune system is weaker. I have not met anyone stronger than my wife. We are very concerned when it comes to Covid. We can not risk her getting Covid. We are not worried about any side effects of the Covid Vaccine that so many of the social media platforms B.Ser's. like to spread.

Our age group has finally been called to get our Covid vaccine next week. We will continue to wear masks when going out in pubic even after getting the vaccine.

When your lifetime partner has to go through cancer, health issues are taken very seriously

    That's a battle worth fighting.

    Best of health!

  • jazz's Avatar Apr 29, 2021 | 19:08 37 Boy its getting hot in here.

Anyway there is something for everyone right around the corner.

    https://www.webmd.com/vaccines/covid-19-vaccine/news/20210428/novavaxs-covid-19-vaccine-may-be-authorized-next

A traditional vaccine will be fast tracked in the EU and US next month and likely hitting arms not too long after. They have committed doses for Canada as well.

Nobody is antivax, but some feel more comfortable getting something more traditional. I mean its going to be in your body forever so if you require extra time to be sure, nobody should be shaming or pressure anyone either way.

And no people who want to wait a little longer are not prolonging the pandemic. Our govt is doing a fine job of that all on their own. Reply With Quote
Apr 29, 2021 | 20:07 38 Ok, sorry, you want me to take the vaccine so your wives can feel safe. Or you feel your wives are safe. You guys are too literal. Did I cover all the avenues of how you can twist and turn?

I’m not 100% sure, but pretty sure it came out of fauci’s mouth that you can still carry and pass on covid even with the vax.

Sorry about your wife brave heart, but no way am I possibly harming myself to maybe help her. If it was tested and known safe, that would be a different story. It doesn’t make sense to possibly harm one person to possibly help another. And asking someone to do just that is well...selfish.

  • Apr 30, 2021 | 06:53 41 So the last year has seen the media tut tut tsking the US, how terrible they are dealing with covid.
Even the most locked down states are more open then the most open Canadian province and now we have the Mb government "teaming up"(more like, welfare case begging) with North Dakota to vaccinate school teachers and truck drivers!
    https://ca.news.yahoo.com/manitoba-teachers-able-vaccinated-north-170414128.html https://ca.news.yahoo.com/manitoba-teachers-able-vaccinated-north-170414128.html

So North Dakota is basically wide open. I was across the line for parts last week and if you are wearing a mask they look at you like you have a big mustard stain on your chin.
"Oh but they have more "covid deaths" per capita and they are all vaccinated"
They do have more "covid deaths" but the story ain't over here and ND is only 28% of adults vaccinated.
So what gives? Reply With Quote

  • Apr 30, 2021 | 07:07 42 This testimony by a Texas doctor is well worth the 20 minutes it takes to hear him out. His main point is that the medical establishment could have prevented most Covid hospitalizations and deaths by concentrating on finding treatment solutions. Instead, their solution to Covid was to effectively destroy the economy until vaccines could be developed and distributed.

Its funny how the MSM and big pharma are pivoting away from vaccines now. They know there is no money in protecting people for good, so now its about a pill or a spray you buy and keep in your medicine cabinet that treats covid, even if you just think you have it. Never prevents it, just like cold meds. Vaccines will never be as profitable as meds and they know that and they know people will not vaccinate every yr. Only the die hard fearful get a flu vaccine every yr. Reply With Quote

So obviously to all of us, MASKS don't work OR hurt and Vaccinations will not make much difference. A test case right in front of us.

Media and others need to understand a VAX does not PREVENT or KILL the virus. If it is working as described all the VAX does is to start up YOUR immunity to watch for this specific protein. Then should you be INFECTED, your OWN immunity is supposed to attack and kill the virus. I think one must still have a healthy immune response. Sorry for those already ill or compromised, their immunity is in huge battle in their body already. If you are VAXED and never infected, nothing hopefully will happen. Probably the VAX will wane as our natural ones do. Reply With Quote

Such a good post. So sorry to hear your family going thru this, it is hard indeed - especially at a time like this.

My only hope would be is that people like flea and so many others here "fighting medical knowledge and comon sense" would be able to experience the true scope of why COVID19 is so dangerous as pointed out by medical professionals over and over and over and...

  • Apr 30, 2021 | 10:42 48 My wife hates when I compare cows to people. Obstetrician keeps cattle so imagine how the last kids birth went. Anyway, IBR/BVD can be a dirty problem in herds, especially those who bring in lots of stockyard cattle unvaccinated for such. BVD’s major impact is not necessarily the kill rate but the carriers which do not thrive in the feedlot. These persistently infected calves shed the virus and pass it on. The best practice is prevention and a robust vaccination program. It’s not the issue it was years ago because most vaccinate. The conspiracy theories on here I think are deeper problem with our hatred and distrust of the current hegemony. I think it is sad we are at that point. The common person feels like their liberty and freedom is slipping away from them, and I feel that way as well. However, I think it is a combination of a heavy handed government enacting virus control measures while sneakily pushing through laws against our liberties. Couple that with bad actors taking advantage of the situation by publishing fake news on both sides of the argument to further breed distrust and chaos. Don’t feel bad cause we have all been duped. fjlip's Avatar Apr 30, 2021 | 11:18 50 Vax seems to affect Israelis too...

Dozens dead after crowd crush at religious festival

Celebration turned to tragedy in Israel early today. At least 44 people were killed and more than 100 others injured after a stampede at a religious bonfire festival. One of the deadliest civilian disasters in Israeli history happened after midnight during celebrations of Lag B'Omer at Mount Meron - an event attended by tens of thousands of people, mostly ultra-Orthodox Jews. The cause of the crowd crush was not immediately clear, but some witnesses said a group of attendees slipped on steps, which in turn caused more people to fall. Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, said he was praying for the victims of the "great tragedy". James Rothwell reports from Jerusalem on how rescue workers faced a chaotic scene while trying to evacuate the injured. Reply With Quote

I probably will...when science proves it is safe. Until then, f-off and quit trying to guilt/coerce people into putting an unproven vax into THEIR bodies. You have control over your own body, nobody else’s.

On a side note, my best friend and his wife got the vax the other day. He was fine. She was layed out and useless for 3 days and took another couple to feel back to somewhat normal. Totally safe you guys...just do it!😉 Reply With Quote

What medical knowledge? Testing hasn’t been completed. There is no knowledge. Only guesses.

And if looking out for your own body warrants “getting what I deserve”, bring it on. At least I am honest and forthright. I don’t need multiple accounts like some people to make it look like I have support behind me. Anything coming from you is quite the joke!🤣
