Just imagine if Newfoundland had been in the GTA or Quebec.
None would have moved to where the work was during last boom. They would not have had to. As a matter of fact, none did LoL.
Of course, as Winnipeg is to Manitoba, so are those two regions to Canada.
Nothing else exists or really matters.
It has been lectured to us time and again.

      Someone has to say it.
Considering the source of this is Climate Barbie and the subject is public transit in Ottawa, the obvious solution is more year round snowshoe paths.

This country should be embarrassed that there are ridings that have 2 times the median income of the national average while at the same time paying out decades of equalization and having 2 hostile programs (NEP and Carbon Tax) leveled against them.

The mindset being "you don't deserve" that much.
          Insert; income, land, property.

Bike lanes? Waste of money. Need scooter lanes for the elderly in the future.

Medicine Hat is taking bids on bike and walking paths. Father in law does that kind of work in Alberta.

The Conservatives built a railway and created a nation - Canada.

The Liberals build bike lanes and are destroying that nation.

It would be pretty easy with the money that cocksucker piece of shit trudo senoir has stolen from Alberta.

So you guys are opposed to walking and cycling now? What next to hate for the angry mob? LOL

Every major city has parks with walking and cycling paths. Saskatoon has the Meewasin trail system of over 90km along the beautiful river . Its well used and well loved.

Wascana Park one of the largest urban parks in North America covering nearly a 2400 acres has over 10km of bike and walking paths that are also well used and well loved.

Most of the 14.9 billion where this 400 million for walking and cycling trails comes from, will be spent over 8 years to improve public transit.

Why are you opposed to encouraging people to get some excercise?

Most cities have identified public transit as a priority to reduce traffic congestion. These are all valuable and attractive assets and investments in any city. These investments will create jobs.

But on agrisilly all we get is complaining and bitching.

The bikers like biking on the streets where people drive even when a beautiful bike path is a 1/2 block south. That’s sustainable?

Bike lanes, good public transit and less cars in the busy city centre make good sense. Pedestrians get in the way of cars, but nobody is suggesting getting rid of sidewalks and street crossings.

We have a big problem that people don't get enough exercise anymore. We are turning into a bunch of lazy slobs. There is a reason why there are so many fat assed Canadians and Americans that want drive through everything plus a 2000 calorie fast food fix in 30 seconds. Pass the donuts!

Or our astute urban planners put bikers doing 40kmh on walking paths where seniors and little kids walk.

Far as a I am concerned, all unlicensed and uninsured vehicles should be banned from public roads and paths including bikers who ignore all the road signs anyway. Designing a city around these people is plain stupid.

No designing a big city around only cars is stupid! Some of the best places to live are like villages within a city where you can walk or take public transit to everything you need. When you need a car call Uber or rent.

Tis the liberal way , no use owning a vehicle either
