Manitoba makes deal to buy Canadian-made COVID-19 vaccine

Sounds like the provinces arent waiting for our idiot in chief anymore who wont support home grown technology.

    Wonder if dml approves?

Skippy teaming up with China for a communist vaccine will cost 10’s of thousands of our senior citizens their life. Every province will now be forced to order vaccines for their vulnerable people, hopefully the rest follow MB’s lead....ironically Providence is the same company Skippy wouldn’t deal with.

So now the Covid deniers and anti lockdown proponents are pissed that there is not enough vaccines to go around? First it was a hoax, now its' all Trudeau's fault that Moderna and Pfizer stopped shipping as much vaccine as promised?

Just more of the usual politics.

Brian Pallister is just pissed because he couldn't spend his winter in Costa Rica! He should have been building Manitoba vaccine production capacity in the last few years instead of holidaying in Costa Rica.

I don't think there is a good reason that parliament is not sitting ...they sure have a lot of holidays for the money they make and accomplish so very little.

Canada ranks 35th in the world for vaccine rollout. There ought to be widespread outrage over this, but many Canadians prefer passive acceptance instead. We're becoming a nation of Soviet peasants who don't mind spending half their lives waiting in line for things. If this keeps up, there will be long lineups for more than just Covid vaccines.

Here's the solution: keep governments out of the production, purchase and distribution of vaccines. Let private companies offer it for sale just as we do for every other pharmaceutical and a staggering array of goods beyond that.

We've already lost a year dealing with this, so further delays will just crash the economy that much harder.

Why would I be opposed? Although it will likely be the end of 2021 before this vaccine is approved given it is just in stage one trials now so likely many in Manitoba will be vaccinated by the time it is available. In which case I will certainly thank Manitoba taxpayers for all the donations of vaccines they bought but will have no use for in province and they then donate to countries in need.

I just find it very funny the differences between the way govts handled the Depression and then the mobilization and war years compared to this.
If all pols' the same. Can anyone with a straight face say they have full confidence in Ski Bunny Boy?

I think dml, you said the federal govt had this covered so I would think there is no reason for Pallister to get involved. If we have 400M vaccine doses secured, we should be good, right?

Then why did he start his own program?

What you suggest would be a huge step backwards.

I am sure you would love a system where the richest people get to pay for early access with no plan for the poor elderly folks who are at much higher risk?

The BC Casino CEO who flew to the Yukon with his wife/girlfriend to fraudulently get his "free" vacinne lost his job in shame.

From what I see keep the Government out of everything. We would be a much stronger happier Nation without the huge debt if the Government wasn't involved. Government screw up everything they touch!
