    Not often aussies get praise

Superstars Serena Williams and Rafael Nadal have lauded the tough Australian quarantine laws which have divided the tennis community.

While many players have vented their outrage at the strict rules – particularly those in the hard 14-day lockdown – the two legends have enjoyed what has been perceived as preferential treatment in Adelaide.

Williams, who is seeking to equal Margaret Court’s record of 24 grand slam titles at Melbourne Park, described the lockdown experience as “insane and super intense”.

“It’s (quarantine rules) super, super strict. But it’s really good. So Australia right now has, the last I heard, zero cases of Covid. So that is unbelievable, right? That is really amazing,” she said.

“So when we come here in Australia, everyone has to quarantine in a room for 14 days. It’s insane and super intense but it’s super good because after that you can have a new normal like we were used to last time this year in the United States.”

Canada has just about as many deaths as Australia has cases. Must be doing something right....

Yeah try not to debate this much.

      Island.

      Heat.

Basically closed borders in was it mid March.

      Hard state border closures.

      Curfews at times.

Public accepting but annoyed at times but greater good scenario.

No or very little civil dis obedience masked when asked.

      Social distancing second nature now.

People just want it gone enough deaths. 5 in our state since jan/feb.

Seems we’re last in line for vaccines because of low cases just elderly and at risk first. Maybe 2 million jabs out of 25/6 million people soon rest in 22.

Our PM is conservative right wing but has connected with ALL when it comes to covid. Think someth8ng l8ke 85% approve of his covid stance.

People stuck overseas still though through lack of flights tennis players get in but appears almost chartered flights that’s hi5 a sour note.

One press conference way back told people don’t be dickheads pull your heads in and help each other to beat this stuck a good note. None of the no worse than flu talk or it will just go away or the old people that have passed on from it well there old anyway .... none of that talk. Occasionally he may say we’ve underestimated this or that he’s apologised for some stuff ups early on. Chief medical officer he has huge faith in him andcexpects general population to do the same.

Just the way it is, smash It get economy going again return to normal, programming.

Interesting side issue the other day he got asked, will Australia be accepting Paris cl8mate accord targets and be taking a serious role in it now joe Biden has re entered. Two letter reply no. Will you feel pressured to or get pressure from new usa administration re Paris, no and no. He’s a ok pr8me minister and will increase his majority even further next election. Even the red lefties here in oz say he’s done well covid but they want more free money again he just says no.

Cheers sheep work tommorow. Big diff in aust to rest of world we are conservative at heart, but centre right we’re as well Canada usa quite left and moving further. Just the way it is. We mine we export Ag products minerals, coal gas etc etc. people know it.

Well how shocking - a couple of fabulously wealthy celebrity sports figures jet in from anywhere and laud a system which leaves them completely unaffected.

This is one instance where I would find acute applicability for the term, "Check your privilege".

Just shut up and swing your racket rather than your jaw, Williams. Then collect your massive pay cheque and go back home, unhindered, win or lose.

We do the same mallee, except one major difference, our population doesnt know it or dont care or if they do know about it, they think its bad that it puts $500B into our GDP every year. Thats dirty. We dont need those things. Lets open more starbucks and amazon outlets and get Heir Justin to run the printing press.

I think the average aussie is 10x smarter than the average canadian.
