Reading on forums tonight grain marketing

Not Agriville we have some remblence of intelligence.

But people talking about class action against usda for false reports previously manipulating numbers in previous reports.

Ive lost over a dollar a bushel on corn and three plus on beans there gonna pay forvfalse reporting....

As ole charlie brown says good grief......

Winge when there bearish winge when there bullish.

Some of them are mega farmers in corn belt.

Oddly biggest complainers have biggest bank balances

Sometimes i wonder if they have a scooby doo.

The BTOs in Canada should start a push for mandatory sales reporting because most of the experts were wrong on the size of the crop here

And cost them a few bucks even though their combine yield monitors were telling them they were not going to cover costs....

Now might be our only chance for a while with the grain act discussions.

        Blackpowder

I have a question....how can numerous governments with farmer MPs and plenty of farm groups with farmers involved not keep this relatively up to date????

And why wasn't this done during the opening of the market prior to 2012...

They knew it would be a different marketing environment and here we sit going on 9 years after major changes with a Canadian grain act needing a review...

Not arguing and not meant to be that tone.....but between what was asked for in the SaskEverything meetings, the carbon tax, the roundtable stuff...there is alot going on in agriculture policy and it doesnt seem like farmers are well engaged???? Or being the appropriate avenues to make comments????

Or worse yet the last ones allowed to make comments to a predetermined outcome??????

Heybucket dont know your situation there completely only what ibread on Agriville.

Sounds like a rush to deregulate market.

          Farmer apathy.

Your farm representative groups either apathy or old school singledeskers that really didn’t want things to change.

No lead in period, two stage process here domestic market deregulated first think 4 years then transitional change in export market over 2 years.

Was stated during the initial stages market change will happen slowly.

Most farm groups the boards etc basically changed if say 10 farmer directors 8 ofvthe old school were removed but 2 of the old school guys were kept for balance.

Reporting transparency was one issue, but traders also wanted some transparency in knowing stocks in elevator system.

Biggest issue bar none was vitterra/glencore own elevators and port outloading facilities in nswits graincorp and in WA its cbh. The issue was open access toball traders at the port. Got legislated in govt forvthat to happen. Fees and charges at port same for all.

Organization Grain Trade Australia set up. sort of umpires in grain trade bussiness.

Govt played hard ball with all concerned, in a nutshell if ya dont set this up right we are not changing single desk will stay.

Consultancy groups involved that had nothing to with farming or grain to putcanother perspective was quite wide ranging opinions and input.
