Quaker gets woke

Jun 17, 2020 | 21:11 1 This will surely turn the tide. Will there be a market now for black oats?

"The Aunt Jemima brand is being removed 'to make progress toward racial equality'
PepsiCo, the parent company of Quaker Oats, which has owned the Aunt Jemima brand since 1926, announced that it will retire the Aunt Jemima name and image, which originated from a racial stereotype. "While work has been done over the years to update the brand in a manner intended to be appropriate and respectful, we realize those changes are not enough,” said the CEO of Quaker." Reply With Quote

I hope Colonel Sanders and Orville Redenbacher follow suit.

What a sad state of affairs society has become

For fůck's sake, even the mainstream diaper brands are using models from various races.

I heard Uncle Ben's might be following suit. Reply With Quote

When the leader of what was "once" one of the most respected countries of the world displays such stupidity is it any wonder we are going down the road we are.

We are moving away from inclusiveness faster than people crying racism think. Reply With Quote

As coming from Puritan stock I am offended by that dude. We are stereotyped wearing buckle hats. My theory about these woke people is that they have no sense of humour. Takes intelligence to get jokes, practice and understand sarcasm, or think independently. Like Robbin Williams said when in Germany “where’s all the funny people? Oh yeah you killed them all.” Some truth in that. Has a message pertinent to the crazy things going on. Reply With Quote

And what about the Wendy's girl? Redheads are definitely one of the smallest minorities worldwide, And ask any redheaded school age kids if they get discriminated against. Reply With Quote

"The world knew her as "Aunt Jemima," but her given name was Nancy Green and she was a true American success story. She was born a slave in 1834 Montgomery County, KY... and became a wealthy superstar in the advertising world, as its first living trademark.

Green was 56-yrs old when she was selected as spokesperson for a new ready-mixed, self-rising pancake flour and made her debut in 1893 at a fair and exposition in Chicago. She demonstrated the pancake mix and served thousands of pancakes... and became an immediate star. She was a good storyteller, her personality was warm and appealing, and her showmanship was exceptional. Her exhibition booth drew so many people that special security personnel were assigned to keep the crowds moving.

Nancy Green was signed to a lifetime contract, traveled on promotional tours all over the country, and was extremely well paid. Her financial freedom and stature as a national spokesperson enabled her to become a leading advocate against poverty and in favor of equal rights for folks in Chicago.

She maintained her job until her death in 1923, at age 89.

Nancy Green was a remarkable woman... and has just been ERASED by politically correct. Honor those who were successful." Reply With Quote

  • Jun 18, 2020 | 07:08 19 I guess images of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary need to be scrubbed from everything too.
The Prophet Muhammad is offensive because he's male, a religious gay hater and thinks men should dominate women.

  • Jun 18, 2020 | 07:10 20 Have a feeling this might be a backfire move. We always reach for Aunt Jemima label not so sure we will do the same if changed. Just might try others or even stick with Canadian Maple syrups from now on. Reply With Quote

So people have been fighting tooth and nail to get people from races other than whites on commercials, advertising, etc, and now removing an icon in the advertising world is considered a win?

Oh and no lives ruined here. Reply With Quote

  • Jun 18, 2020 | 07:38 25 When I buy that syrup I don’t see a black woman I see a person that must have had some kind of input into the making of that product. Don’t know rhe whole story and really don’t care. Someone that had enough pride to want to put her picture on the product. Isn’t this promoting black people! How is this a negative thing? Or is there more to the story.

This is so *** nuts!!! Reply With Quote
