Why drumstick is a super food for people of all age group around the world ?
Rich in protein , essential amino acids, mineral nutrients ,fibre , beta carotene moringa leaf powder is a nutritious food supplements .More amount of vitamin C significantly enhances immunity in human body system . Out of 13 moringa species grown across the world the Moringa oleifera , Indian moringa is grown and exported to meet 80%of global demand . The certified organic moringa commands premium price in international markets and pharmaceutical chain stores and super market sells moringa product in various forms like moringa leaf powder , moringa tablets , moringa capsules and also as blended moringa products like moringa + turmeric tablets / capsules , moringa + neem tablets and capsules and moringa + turmeric + neem tablets . It is anti cancerous and cures many human diseases .
As a matter of fact cultivation of drumstick as a real commercial crop has assumed greater significance among global farming community. So drumstick is rightly called million dollar crops by world farmers
SEEDs of MORINGA
Seed of Moringa oleifera measures 1 cm in diameter with 3 papery white wings on angle .Fresh seeds retain viability of over 90 % within 2 months of seed production and germination declines beyond this in ambient temperature .However the viability of seeds are prolonged in hermetically sealed container and cold storage . Seeds mature in about 3 months after flowering when pods turn brown in colour and dry pods split longitudinally along the 3 ridges of pod .The mature moringa seeds look dark brown and each pod produces around 20-26 seeds each weighing 0.35 grams to 0.12 grams .No of seeds per kilogram vary among different varieties of moringa between 3000 - 9000 .
Moringa seeds germinate in about 7-30 days . When when temperature is around 10-15 degree Celsius it takes 25-30 days to germinate and 7-14 days when temperature is around 25-30 degree Celsius .
The trees grown from seeds develop stout and deep tap roots
and more spreading white tubular lateral roots providing strong anchorage and aiding in more absorption of mineral nutrients and water and tolerance to drought .
The moringa seeds sprout and grow well in wide PH range of 5.5 to 8 and medium to light texture soil
