Apr 4, 2020 | 07:58 1 Everyone at public gatherings such as grocery stores and drugstores should wear masks and wash hands before entering at a hand washing station. In other words wherever people are in close proximity. Masks and handwashing will prevent people who are carrying the virus from spreading it to others or spreading it to surfaces others may contact. Please no matter what your political or social beliefs contact your local officials to make it so. The masks or coverings need not be medical grade. They just need to prevent droplets from infected people to spread when they talk or breathe. This will hasten the end of this nightmare. South Korea has proven this strategy. Coverings must provided at entrances and in lineups, mandatory by the merchants such as a superstore. Reply With Quote

  • Apr 4, 2020 | 08:12 2 This should happen immediately in my opinion. It would be so easy to do and if it stopped the spread we could get back to normal life. Make it mandatory for 2 weeks and watch the cases drop. Reply With Quote

When you're government tells you not to wear a mask, do the opposite.

Don't believe a damned thing you hear on CBC.

And on a side note Unifore strikers should be fired and jailed. Reply With Quote

Well they say you end up touching your face more often, but they also say its droplet based, but they also say....

    Overshare:

When i get home, take the bags out, set groceries on cardboard in garage, remove outer glove layer and bleach them. Whatever is covered in plastic or cardboard i spray with bleach solution and if possible let sit for a day minimum. Same procedure for mail/packages. Frozen veggies, refrigerated goods like milk cheese leave a while and then rinse off, and bring to kitchen and wash with soap and water. Then put away. Cereal for example, just leave bleached for a day or longer if not needed in garage. Wipe everything down after, door handles, fridge handles, all surfaces. Wash hands yet once more, wash clothes separate. Has been kind of the routine last 6 years - but not as detailed or consistent

For me its pretty simple, i get it, i'm most likely dead. I know its only a matter of time till most of us get it. But we can't get it all at once. That is our only job, and call to service for our country. Not go shoot people or get shot, but just stay home and wash hands. I think we can do it. Reply With Quote

Tongue in cheek that was. But no, we have a lot of what the supermarket carries here at home. Except that much needed toilet paper.

I don't go to town much at the best of times. Reply With Quote

Wearing mask does not protect you necessarily, but it may help protected others from you. I think scientists like Tam have good intentions but have fallen into the trap of not trusting you or I to do the right thing. They are worried people will suck up masks used for essential workers. We need to increase supply of surgical masks for everybody. Reply With Quote

Apr 4, 2020 | 10:32 23 Since something like 48% of us are carriers and we don’t even know, I think I will assume I am one of, “them” and wear the N95 mask, spray it with alcohol when I come home. Gallon jug of iso alcohol, Clorox Wipes, Lysol Wipes, Javex in my dish water, 4 big jugs of rum, gin, vodka and wine, silver ionizers at the table, cases of Tonic Water stacked against the wall. Think I got it covered? I’m not scared at all 🦍 Reply With Quote

Honestly don’t think any of these so called experts have a god damn clue what is right or wrong or how many will get it or die. What’s gonna happen will happen. Just gotta do our best to keep it on a slow pace Reply With Quote

Apr 4, 2020 | 10:55 25 But here's the thing, 70% of the population needs to get it over the next 12 months or so for enough herd immunity without overwhelming the medical system - if everything goes perfect, no vaccine for 18 months. Many of us will find out if Covid19 will kill us in the next year or so.

If they can find a workable anti-viral, then great. but nothing confirmed yet.

Stuff they don't say on the news.

15444, perhaps you can spend some time volunteering to clean hospital rooms of covid after the patient expires if no big deal. I'm sure they could use the help and time off to rest. Or just volunteer to move patients, move medical waste. You don't even need a mask. Reply With Quote

You aren't thinking wd9. You have let this worm into your head and now you are a full blown Cassandra.

Let me tell you what the impacts are. Now with this hysteria doctors are doing phone calls for regular checkups, no in person, just a chat on the phone. All blood and urine testing is suspended. Elective surgeries cancelled and its now a year wait to see any specialist in Sk. Dynacare labs has closed and is no longer doing regular blood and urine testing. Its my wifes time for pap smear and other testing and my MIL for mammogram and pap. All have been put off indefinitely.

How many conditions are going to be missed by this? Cancer diagnosis, urgent surgeries missed, medications that need to be adjusted, people avoiding the emergency room because of covid, not venturing out of their house to get care, etc.

Already divorce and domestic abuse have gone up. I suspect addictions and overdoes are next, suicides later.

Do you understand the cumulative effects of the measures we have taken. Reply With Quote
