Carbon Tax Protest

Mar 30, 2020 | 14:25 1 In one day from now the Liberal government is planning to hike the carbon tax by 50%.

I t allows us one more day to email and protest this brazen Liberal cash grab.

Below is a copy of what I sent:

The Honourable William Francis Morneau,
Minister of Finance.

The Honourable Mona Fortier,
Minister of Middle Class Prosperity and Associate Minister of Finance.

******, (Local)
Member of Parliament.

Minister Morneau, Minister Fortier, Mr (local MP),

As a resident of ******* County, South-Western Ontario, I raise this concern:

Reportedly, the 50% increase in the carbon tax is going on as planned on April 1, 2020.

That the Liberal government should even think about applying this increase in a time of unprecedented and historic economic destruction due to the Covid crisis, is nothing short of reprehensible.

There is absolutely no justification for making the plight of millions of suffering Canadians even more unbearable through applying a needless and ineffective tax in a time of unquantifiable threat and devastation such as Canada has never seen – in all of its varied and magnificent history!

It is very clear – if the Government of Canada insists on applying this tax increase, they are demonstrating that the Liberal government places ideology ahead of human worth by a magnitude of orders.

I request that the Government of Canada repeal not only the plan to increase the carbon tax at this time, but to remove the carbon tax completely for the purpose of easing the burden on an already badly damaged production and transport infrastructure.

Minister Morneau, it is within your power to take the proper action and do the right thing right now to show that you notice and care about the suffering of the people of Canada.

Please do not further injure Canada by unhelpfully taxing a hurting country.

Sincerely, Reply With Quote

  • Mar 30, 2020 | 15:53 4 It’s clear the libs refuse to budge on their planned strangulation of the agricultural industry with their carbon tax theft. They see assets and want desperately to get their paws on them. More carbon tax, capital gains tax hikes and estate/death taxes are next.
Where is the rest of the industry support? All the input and output chains should be all over the govt as well. If we die, they die. If we have less income, they do too.
Everyone needs to think about how this money grab gets made up for by farms.
The on farm response may be grey in legal terms, but they are leaving us no choice. Another loan is not the answer. Reply With Quote

  • Mar 30, 2020 | 15:56 5 our esteemed prime minister has promised to pay up to 75% wages of every worker in Canada, and yet can't even rebate the carbon tax farmers paid on grain drying last fall. but be happy, he's giving you more loans. Reply With Quote

After we get through #Covid_19, the world will have a choice. Respond with an economic & jobs recovery stimulus that jumps starts the clean economy & creates meaningful jobs .. or not.

O&G will remain the enemy of the Liberals/Greens. Is there a depth of stupidity that she cannot plumb? Reply With Quote

An exciting read, showing that some have the courage and foresight to voice unpopular realities.

“Many people now have other things to do. So do we.” said minister Wiebes from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy."

Other things like real-life issues maybe?

And this, from Prof. Guus Berkhout to world leaders-

“Your Excellencies, compared to COVID-19 climate change is a non-problem! It is based on computer models and looks into the far future. In current health emergency, however, your attention to the peoples’ needs is today! Please, don’t continue pushing your zero carbon emission ambition in a time that the world is dealing with a deadly global crisis. Yes, there is an emergency, but it is NOT the climate.”

Wow, that is kryptonite to the climate bed-wetters.

If nothing else good comes from it, perhaps the Chinese Flu will get the world back on a track of realism rather than rabid ideology.

If people are faced with a choice between food and feel-good fantasies, which do you suppose they will choose?

Climate/Builder Barbie may never understand what a meaningful job is, but after this Liberal-induced plague of progs, millions of everyday Canadians will. Reply With Quote

One week and the country will be on its knees. Two weeks the armed forces would start hauling produce. Three weeks and there would be riots. Reply With Quote

Very accurate, it would be a good lesson for all the people calling for the pro-carbon taxers. Reply With Quote
