Mar 29, 2020 | 10:33 1 Works, according to Novartis and even lefist bastion G&M say its the only thing we got.

Novartis CEO says Malaria drug is biggest hope against coronavirus

Trump’s ‘miracle’ COVID-19 drug deserves a chance. It may be all we’ve got

And if it does, people don't seem to realize the implications of this drug. If covid 19 can be treated with this drug then so can every other type of flu or even the common cold. In fact every disease with a viral cause can be treated. Pneumonia, hepatitis, gastrointestinal, dengue fever, etc. 18% of cancers have a viral cause and some scientist think Alzheimer's is the result of latent viral load over many years.

Virus 'identity change' may play a role in Alzheimer's

Why did Trump have to highlight this drug and not the FDA weasel or the big pharma clowns. Reply With Quote
Blaithin's Avatar Mar 29, 2020 | 11:38 2 Your crush on Trump is obviously limiting your exposure to information before it comes out of his mouth.

China and South Korea were both doing studies using chloroquinine. He didn't just pull the antimalarial out of his ass and say it'll work. The information was out there already and being used in treatments already.

Why aren't organizations like the FDA and the WHO saying quick, let's use these? Because they are cautious organizations based on trials and results. You don't just take a drug that shows some promise and then tell everyone to use it.

If Trump told you to take Ibuprofen if you feel sick, you'd probably do that too. Reply With Quote

Everyone can read the test result numbers. Reply With Quote

Your TDS drug will take a little longer unfortunately.

The WHO and FDA never mentioned these drugs because they were busy telling people winners like human t human transmission impossible, masks don't work, low risk, and travel bans racist.

Not once have I seen anyone from those organizations propose a treatment or a study or even information to the public about these treatments until Trump did.

How cautious do you want to be in a pandemic? If 400M people are going to die like some of you have said, you wouldn't even try a drug that shows promise? The French have studies show efficacy in hundred of patients and you can find posting from docs on the front line who said f the FDA and tried it and it worked. Your solution is shut down the economy and wait for a vaccine? You cant be serious. There will be nothing left to vaccinate after that. Reply With Quote

Deaths and cases still doubling every 5 days. If the trend continues just as it has for the past two months for the next 2 months that will mean 135 million deaths by end of May. See the problem. Reply With Quote

Obama was not a narcissist and a incessant liar. Swine flue has a death rate of 1/10 covid-19 . Anytime any one calls him on his lies it is called bashing by his base. He bullies and demeans anyone who does not praise him. Why would anyone with an ounce of decency any intelligence respect someone like that? He has corrupted the office of the most powerful country in the world. Reply With Quote

Did you see Dr Birx press conf? She totally dispelled your hysterical math.

Just like your portfolio doesn’t compound unabated, neither does a virus. It doesn’t follow a simple logarithmic function unless all of us are stuffed into a giant room together 24-7. Ever have a member of your house hold get sick and you don’t?

A virus works in fits and starts, infects a population, then subsides, starts in another, dies out in another etc. Eventually it runs out of people to infect in a given area and then becomes a bell curve and declines.

So you like platitudes. Well Trudeau is dispensing those daily from his cowardly self quarantine. I suggest you tune in breathlessly and wait for his morning ****oo clock routine.

Interestingly i read an article a bit ago about that. The Ro was 1.46 and they didn't fall asleep at the wheel when it first came out vs as high as 3.5. 11 days they were testing vs CV19 was 7 weeks and already running out of supplies. Not sure but H1N1 wasn't contagious till symptoms showed - and always showed.

Also said the biggest problem with covid is the social media storm pumping out bad information faster then the virus, telling people not to worry, overblown, there is a cure, kind of like half the posts here.

Give this one 2 years, then you can be able to compare the results of the 2.

Now here is the scary part, 20,000 per day in the last 3 or 4 days, deaths occur when, like 10 to 14 days after mostly?

The biggest issue in Canada was not stopping flights from China to Canada earlier.
Up until recently it was racist and xenophobic to restrict any flights from entering Canada or also illegal border jumpers entering. Since than it’s no longer racist but flights still are coming in.

People without PHD’s will have to explain this very simple concept to Dr. Tam and our woke PM. Reply With Quote

    More like 2 months.

Somebody is delusional if they think the baby boomers are going to miss the cottage this year or the millenials are going to miss their time at the beach.

There is going to be blood on the streets if this carries into the summer. And it could very well be parents eliminating their spawn after they learn what useless little bastards they are, trapped in the same house/apartment. Reply With Quote

(Yicai Global) Feb. 19 -- China's Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings has ended a two-decade break to resume the production of an antimalarial drug with proven Covid-19 suppressing abilities.

Guangzhou Pharmaceutical will soon bring the first batch of 500,000 tablets of chloroquine onto the Chinese mainland market, The Paper reported. The products were prepared in a day after the southern Chinese firm got the green light to restart production on Feb. 17. The maximum capacity is 2 million units per day.

China has 23 firms that have the license to make chloroquine, the biggest of which is Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Holding, but many have stopped due to the country's scarce malaria cases. However, the virus outbreak that has claimed 2,008 lives in China has shaken up the medical sector to brush up on old skills.

The Wuhan Institute of Virology, administered by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said on Feb. 4 that chloroquine and US Gilead Sciences's antiviral drug remdesivir have been useful in treating Covid-19. Since then, more than 10 hospitals in different cities have tested these drugs on patients with positive results.

Chloroquine is cheaper than remdesivir but with similar effects, an industry insider told The Paper. Experts have recommended the antimalarial drug to be added to the national Covid-19 treatment plan, the Ministry of Science and Technology's spokesperson said at a press conference on Feb. 17.

Chloroquine is not the ultimate cure for all Covid-19 patients but it can help without many side effects, Zhong Nanshan, academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said at a press conference yesterday.

2 million doses a day is a big trial!

They had been buying all the could get from other countries since at least March 8.

Note how the dates line up with their infection chart like the one Biglentil posted above.

They never "Flattened the curve" as theirs went straight up and then dropped of quickly about a week after this article. Reply With Quote

FDA now has approved it to be prescribed by doctors. Today during the daily press update Dr. Fauci was asked about the 1100 trials that are currently going on in New York and elsewhere and he was very pleased.
Hopefully these drugs will provide favourable results and will give doctors information they need.
