UN peacekeeping spends about $6.25 billion and Canada contributes just under 3% of this amount. It seems many immigrants are from war torn countries. Maybe it’s cheaper to allow immigrants than to stop warfare that causes most of this emigration. I would vote to spend more to stop war and genocide so people can live in their native countries and immigrate through legal avenues if they choose to do so.

This seems to be a ridiculous idea on my part, as there is no hint of it in any politicians platform.

Not sure who is right, western Europe, or central/eastern Europe.

Central/Eastern Europe, and the FSR countries, are determined to collapse along with their demographics but are determined to keep their cultures intact to the bitter end without immigration.

Western Europe will avoid the demographic collapse that would otherwise doom their social programs, security, and economies, but at the cost of making their culture unrecognizable in a couple of generations.

Western Europe will likely survive in name only, Eastern Europe will be unable to even defend their territory, and will cease to be viable as independent countries.
