Every one of them put up their hands when asked if they are getting a MFP payment....

Canadian farmers are getting lower prices directly impacted by that MFP payment and we are getting zero support from the Canadian government....

If you are worried about the american farmer.....shouldn't you ask the same questions here in Canada...

And while Trump has impacted our markets ....

No one should forget the impact of Trudeau's bizarre antics ....or Freeland's moral superioty tweets....or Mckenna's additional costs downloaded to farmers....

They seem to think that this is a fight that had to happen. Just not very pleased to be bearing the brunt of it, when being completely unable to pass those costs on as other industries can.

There is a little known term called opportunity cost. it applies in many situations. Especially this one.

If you were guarunteed to get $12 canola for the foreseeable future but that meant chinese take over of many inustries, more jobs lost, chinese influence in our govt, patent stealing, spying, tech surveliance, data collection, is that an accepatable trade off?

Thats what the US was looking at. Its what we were looking at too. A good chunk of BC is already chinese owned. They have their fingers in our resource industries. Chinese potash plant being built SE of me to take produce right offshore.

What is $2 extra a bushel worth to you? Losing your country?

But in the age of instant gratification, short term pain for long term gain just doesn't appeal to most.

It is surprising though, reading comments on NAT, how many are begrudgingly accepting that it needed to be done, and the long term is worth the short term damage.
