"Experts have branded the move a dangerous power grab that marks Facebook's "most invasive" form of surveillance yet."

Will it be competition to Bitcoin, or something entirely different?

No, it will introduce billions to crypto and ultimately Bitcoin.

It is centralized and without privacy.

It will compete with payment processors like VISA, PayPal, Western Union, etc.

Take a look at the founding members of the association, some of which are Mastercard, PayPal, Stripe, VISA, eBay, Lyft, Uber, etc.

Zuck Bucks were tried before however, they have alot of firepower and have a good chance of getting through government regulations.

Bitcoin is not centralized so it cannot be shutdown. This could be.

Each founder gets a vote for direction of the currency. If it goes against Facebook's wishes they could cripple the project.

It could be good for the unbanked, but is not ideal.
