Strategy for the west to win the upcoming Federal election

We hold the rest of the country hostage.
First, while we are still in a position of relative strength, with options, we negotiate with the US for terms of acceptance into the union, then widely publicise that this option is real and tangible, plus potentially imminent. Lay out what effect that will have on tax revenues, equalization payments, social programs, currency, confidence, investments etc.

Threaten that if Trudeau ( or any future leader with the same last name) is re-elected, then secession will begin the day after the election.

Provide a list of demands to the other parties, and at this point, none of them could do worse than Trudeau. They must campaign on meeting those demands, and they must be their only priorities once in government. These would include overturning every piece of anti-industry and anti-business legislation enacted by the current government, the end of equalization, criminalizing (retroactively ideally) any act whose sole purpose is to obstruct resource development, including and especially funding of those acts. Removing activist judges under the same legislation. Mandating that all current and future taxes and regulations must be aligned with our largest trading partner or be more competitive. Failure to do so will result in immediate secession.

Based on the previous election, and the positions of the extreme left posters who daily display their ignorance on Agriville, I don't have a lot of faith that Canadian voters would have the common sense to accept the consequences that western secession would have on their quality of life going forward, and do the right thing, so most probably, separation is all but assured, but it is worth a try to hold it all together.

Good plan if the candidates in the west for the conservatives were just a little ahead of a monkey for intelligence. ....

Everyone votes consetvative on the west but gets nothing from a majority conservative government....

Just look what the last conservative government did to farm support programs....and here we are again.....begging.....zero vision .....

And that is why we have to hold all of them hostage. Otherwise what's the kit in they all are Beholden to where the majority of the votes are. Getting rid of judo is only half the battle. We still need to ensure that whoever replaces him Is responsible, And our western votes will never accomplish that, Without The serious threat of separation.

Here is my prediction, Sheer wins a shaky minority. There are just too made hard core socialists in the country who will never vote for another party. Or some unholy union of Libs/Greens/NDP tried to take over the house. Sheer may have to align with the bloc to keep the balance which would mean more concessions to quebec. A no win situation as far as I am concerned. Probably the govt falls and another election is held with a consolidated leftie vote. Look at Doug Ford. made just some minor tweeks to the govt and his popularoty falls 20 pts. Probably same thing happens to Sheer. At that point we have to decide the country is ungovernable as is.

Two things about separation. The natives in the west and our share of Canadas growing debt. Those were issues when Quebec tried it. Most of the land is under treaty with Canada. If Canada is no longer a country, does that open up a bunch of land claims?

Angus Reid suggested a better route. Creating a western bloc party which would balance the seats in the house and then back it up with threats just like Quebec does. Turn the oil down daily if we have to.

Form another western separatist party. That is a proven winner!

Regardless of who is Prime Minister this is a great country and many would gladly replace you if you want to move somewhere "better".

Some people lose sight of that.

Typical socialist mantra garbage, Don't aspire to be better or to be the best you can be, Only Try to drag everyone down to the lowest common denominator.

More than a two party system a handicap I feel. Unelected unrepresentative Senate a big problem.
Shut off the tap until there is 2 elected Senators from every province and territory.

A large majority of the electorate is centre left in Canada. So no matter what government is elected most governments govern from the middle. This will never satisfy extremists on the right.

best election strategy for sheer is to say nothing , do nothing and let this sack of shit self destruct and hope the liberals don't take him out before the election

You know, chuck, every once in a while you say something completely logical rational and coherent. This was one of those times, And that was the entire point of my original post if you happen to bother to have read any of it.

If, by extremists on the right, you mean, Business people, taxpayers and other productive members of society who don't rely on government for their paycheque, then yes, we will never be satisfied by being ruled and taxed by the radical left, while they simulation and purposely block our ability to be productive. But unfortunately, their standard of living is wholly dependent on those productive members of society who actually contribute. They (you) will get a rude awakening when we are no longer willing to put up with this arrangement.
And no, Trudeau (or the people behind him driving the agenda) and not center left, they are beyond the fringe of radical left. Cretien, Harper etc were center left big tent leaders, not this traitor.
