Yup, what happens on your farm is evidence that human caused climate change is not happening on a global scale. All the experts are wrong and its a socialist plot! Reply With Quote

    Get a life ffs
I said frost every night but one in a month in may , yes that is unusual
But when it floods or is hot for a week it fnwell is absolute proof of glowbullshit warming
Anyways frost this many nights at this time of year is very unusual
Any yes my area matters too
But for the record. Climate change is real , no one with half a brain disputes that or else why would big bert the croc have died 5 miles from here ?????!!!
Im just not stupid enough to believe man can control it

    AMS and Climate Change

Climate Change is among the most pressing issues facing the world today.

Humans are causing climate to change and it poses numerous serious risks. The more carbon we emit, the higher the carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere will be and the larger the changes in climate we'll face. Based on our current path, a child who is born today would, at age 30, breath air with roughly twice as much carbon dioxide as her great, great grandparents. And yet, we do not know how much carbon we can emit safely and we cannot know in advance when human-caused climate changes will lead to catastrophic societal consequences. We do know that we are seeing some of these consequences today, including increases in global temperatures, melting ice caps, and rising global sea levels.

These are conclusions based on multiple independent lines of evidence that have been gathered over decades of intensive scientific research. They are affirmed, and reaffirmed by numerous leading scientific institutions around the world, including AMS.

For example, the official AMS statement on Climate Change, reads in part, “Warming of the climate system now is unequivocal, according to many different kinds of evidence.” It goes on to say, “It is clear from extensive scientific evidence that the dominant cause of the rapid change in climate of the past half century is human-induced increases in the amount of atmospheric greenhouse gases …”

Similar conclusions have been reached by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, the National Academies of more than 30 other countries, other scientific societies, including AGU and AAAS. We know of no scientific institution with relevant subject matter expertise that disagrees with these basic conclusions.

Phil Jones, the beleaguered British climate scientist at the centre of the leaked emails controversy, is facing fresh claims that he sought to hide problems in key temperature data on which some of his work was based.

A Guardian investigation of thousands of emails and documents apparently hacked from the University of East Anglia's climatic research unit has found evidence that a series of measurements from Chinese weather stations were seriously flawed and that documents relating to them could not be produced.

  • May 15, 2019 | 08:40 13 A new batch of 5,000 emails among scientists central to the assertion that humans are causing a global warming crisis were anonymously released to the public yesterday, igniting a new firestorm of controversy nearly two years to the day after similar emails ignited the Climategate scandal.

Three themes are emerging from the newly released emails: (1) prominent scientists central to the global warming debate are taking measures to conceal rather than disseminate underlying data and discussions; (2) these scientists view global warming as a political “cause” rather than a balanced scientific inquiry and (3) many of these scientists frankly admit to each other that much of the science is weak and dependent on deliberate manipulation of facts and data.

Regarding scientific transparency, a defining characteristic of science is the open sharing of scientific data, theories and procedures so that independent parties, and especially skeptics of a particular theory or hypothesis, can replicate and validate asserted experiments or observations. Emails between Climategate scientists, however, show a concerted effort to hide rather than disseminate underlying evidence and procedures. Reply With Quote

And further suggesting that all climate science is suspect is just the usual denier BS. Grasping at straws.

If you and your socialist governments honestly believe that the world is going to fall apart that quick why don’t they do something about beside tax . For instance They claim biodiesel from canola is cleaner then let’s start burning it at a much larger rate .make it possible for everyone to buy solar panels put the carbon tax to all renewable sources .the truth of the Matter is its only a tax grab Canada useing 110 million litres a day in only gasoline government just raking in the doe . The only way your going to stop people from using gas and power is break them putting a carbon tax is like giving a drunk driver a 10 dollar fine Reply With Quote

Turdo #1 main reason for going metric was to make fuel into liters, tiny little liters so a few cents increase no big deal till you calculate into GALLONS, the SOB!

May 16, 2019 | 07:22 26 as far as the city flooding thing , its real simple , even a child should be able to figure it out ?
THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE LIVING TO GOD DAMN CLOSE TO THE GOD DAMN WATER
and therein too much cement & pavement , in case you don't know , it t doesn't absorb water like soil and trees and crops etc.
    heres some reading for you;

There are at least three different things happening that make it seem like there are more floods today:

Over the last 50 years, the population of the United States has doubled (U.S. census), so any flood tends to affect a lot more people now. That makes it feel like the floods are more severe.
The media seems to pile on the coverage whenever any flood happens anywhere, so you hear about floods more now than you used to.
Floods today are more severe because of changes that people have made to the landscape.
The third factor is interesting. To understand how flooding can be more severe now, think about a 100-acre piece of land covered in trees. Let's say that 3 inches of rain falls on that land in a heavy downpour. Forested land is extremely good at absorbing and holding water. The leaves on the ground slow the water down and let the ground absorb it. All of that rainfall might be retained by the land and release slowly over several days.

Now imagine the same piece of land converted to a shopping mall. That 100 acres is now completely paved over. If three inches of rain falls, none of it is absorbed. So about 10 million gallons (40 million liters) of water runs straight to the nearest creek or river in a matter of a few minutes. Look around you in any developed area and you see tens of thousands of acres paved over like this. A heavy rain (from a hurricane, for example) can completely overwhelm rivers that were once adequate. The ground is not absorbing any of the water. (You do see efforts to control this sort of runoff in some cities. For example, next to some malls there are huge, dry catch basins. In a heavy rain, they fill with runoff and turn into lakes so that the water isn't immediately dumped into the river.)

The other thing that is happening today is that people now build structures in flood-prone areas and then erect levees and walls to try to keep the water out. Prior to this development, flooding rivers could spread out over wide areas when necessary, and no one noticed. Now, there is nowhere for the water to go except for the narrow, hardened channel of the river itself. The river rises higher, and if it breaches a levy it creates a major disaster.

It is not raining any more than normal. It's just that all of the rain that falls moves into a river very quickly, and the river and flood plains are much narrower than they used to be. This can create much more severe flooding.

actually no more flooding, drought , fires, etc. than normal , just msn dwelling on it , like trump , instead of looking for news
    off of a science journal

  • May 16, 2019 | 07:45 27 The government and insurance companies are nuts for paying flood damages on buildings along waterways and lakes. Echo Lake, Crooked Lake, every lake means just that - its a lake and its going to flood as it has every 10-15-20 years. No surprise to most rational thinkers. We own one of those cottages and also know that occasionally we need sand bags and two or three sump pumps and maybe a few repairs. Water has gotten over the retaining wall twice since we owned it. No need for government or taxpayers, buyer beware! Reply With Quote
