    Australian Election Called

Interesting times here well if your interested i guess.

As you know we have the left of politics and the right and annoying minor parties basically to the extreme of both.

Last 10 to 12 years seems the left and right both moving to middle ground to catch swinging voters. To the point there not alot of difference in either party.

The conservatives this time round have swung big time to the right and the left have swung towards more socialism.

    So possibly a "distinct" difference.

Thus far theres been quite a kick in the polls for conservatives they were trailing badly.

My gut feel is after i think 8 years of conservatives we will be back to a labour left leaning govt.

Voting is compulsory here in oz. $20 fine if you don't and $50 for repeat offenders. Over 95% usually vote. Funny here in WA there's party members in your face trying to influence you with flyers and voting suggestion cards right up until you walk into the polling station. Must be lots of voters haven't got a clue who to vote for. Personally hate politics, I think most people don't trust govt in general so they just end up voting for the opposition just to punish or blame someone for their perceived sorry state.
