JUst came through on breaking news

As you know im a FENCE SITTER with renawables versus norenawables. Anyway this just came through on national headlines a coal mine approved but as it says many hoops and hurdles to jump through and over yet. What i like middle ground some coal some wind some solar a mix.,

Adani has been given Commonwealth approval to start building its Queensland coal mine in a victory for the controversial project.

Federal Environment Minister Melissa Price says she has accepted the advice of the CSIRO and Geoscience Australia, which both gave the plan the green light.

Ms Price was under pressure from her Queensland colleagues to sign off on the plan before the Government goes into caretaker mode.

The future of the proposal for central Queensland now rests with the State Government, having received the final federal approvals needed before construction can begin.

The project still requires nine more approvals to be granted from the Queensland and Commonwealth governments before mining can commence.

Coal fired power generation is much better than wind. It doesn't cause cancer like windmills do.

the world is waking up to the scam that it is
soon the science deniers/fearmongerer/sky is falling types will have to look for a new job and someone else to bullshit
and all the while this horseshit is going on , the real problems of the world like plastic in the oceans, smog in large cities, birth control, etc. are being ignored
instead they target canada , probably one of the cleanest countries in the world, probably carbon neutral while people in china and india walk around with masks on so they can breathe

        Well said in the WP....

The audacity of this strategy is that government would have us believe that Canada with a population of 37.3 million can save a world population of 7.7 billion from climate change. Canadian fuel prices are higher than in the United States largely because of federal and provincial taxes that are now running more than 30 percent of the price per litre at the pump. This puts Canada at a distinct competitive disadvantage with the U.S., our largest trading partner, with a population of 330 million.

The elephant in the room with this policy is the belief that carbon fuel use will decline with increases in price. France fuel prices were already running at the equivalent of $6.67 when French President Emmanuel Macron announced a further five percent increase in November. The already overtaxed French rebelled and the increase was dropped. The moral of the story is that if you have no substitutes for carbon-based fuel, taxing the living daylights out of it will only hurt the taxpayer with no meaningful results. Dumb ASS Climate Change preachers
