    US Politics

Basically everything is gonna be deadlocked and nothing will pass?

Said previously dont care which side is in right or left or middle ground as long as they can govern a gridlocked govt achieves nothing.

Weve basically got same here in australia right wing in with a one seat majority but if any independants vote against govt nothing happens.

Trudeau Sr’s last term was a minority which was an expensive mess and it fell. Maybe that’s what’ll happen here. Ndp holds balance god help us.

I sure can't understand why the Dem's would be against a wall on their southern border. For years and years they have had drugs and criminals and hordes of people trying to run in without going in through the proper way.

The majority of crystal meth and other hard drugs in the USA originate from Mexico so why wouldn’t they want the border sealed off.

          Voters.....

What's the practicality of a border wall? How well do you think you can fence or wall a 3000km+ national boundary. You think guys won't try to swim the rivers/scale it/tunnel under/sail around the ends or fly over the top? You underestimate how resourceful desperate people are - think of the British POWs that were held in Colditz by the Germans that escaped and made their way across occupied Europe back to Britain to serve again. Putting a fence or wall up where you aren't watching every inch of it every minute of the day isn't going to be effective.

Pretty easy to watch every minute of the day with thermal imaging using existing sensors on existing satellites, already being done. Fragmenting wildlife habitat and movement is the downside I have with the wall. Have no problem with a country defending its borders. Hello Trudeau, wake up.

You got minority parties in canada?

Presume you must have some other than conservatives and liberal.

Funny in australia our conservatives are called the "liberal party" and our left party is called "labour" or workers party hence the name.

Didnt tom run for politics in a "rose" party or something or is that provincial

The Wildrose party mallee - they were an Alberta group as the wild rose is the provincial flower of Alberta. They were an offshoot of the Conservatives - more right wing, more religious but pro-property rights (which was funny as they were funded by big oil) The party imploded and they jumped back in bed with the Conservatives forming the United Conservative party of Alberta.

The Oboma’s just finished their new 10 ft wall around their property .....
I would be almost every outspoken MSM leftist on TV has a wall around their property.
Every Hollywood actor / talk show host ... yup has a wall around their property.
Ask your self ..... why ???

What's wrong with adding extra security. People are big talkers until something they rail against happens to them. Put yourself into the shoes of families hurt by people that are illegal aliens. The waste of government money is unreal, what trump is asking for is nothing and will create jobs forever in construction and maintenance. You know grassfarmer you most likely relocated to canada to escape alot of the issues that are just beginning to root here now. We have a small amount of people working to keep a majority alive with more coming in every day for the free ride.

In Alberta Provincial politics... the Wild Rose Party [since mid 2000's] was 'Conservative'... and the old time [since 1974]'Progressive Conservatives' voted to merge together July of last year [under leader Jason Kenny].

Now these merged parties are called the 'United Conservative Party' these 'conservatives' are polling well and projected to win the provincial election this first half of 2019.

Common Sense would dictate... politics aside... that a more secure US border with Mexico... is in the best interests of both countries. Pres Trump will likely prevail in one form or another... to secure this border... the Democrats are shooting themselves in the foot.... the longer this drags out the more silly they look.
                          Cheers!

Isnt it odd that the same cons we voted out because of incopetence and arogance are the same ones who are backing the ucp, and no matter how bad sask3 wants to believe the libs, and nds are the problem all this mess is a carryover from the previous gov,and the next governing party will inhearet what the present gov has put in place. Wouldnt it be nice (or scary) if a gov could turn things around in a 4yr term.

Maybe we/Canada should pay for the wall. We paid 4.5 billion for a pipeline that nobody wants to talk about. Could you imagine the favours Trump would give Canada if we offered to pay for the wall. We could even call it the Canada wall. It would make Canada Great Again!!!!!
