    New NAFTA

    Oh boy.

First of all, Mexico and the USA agree to not restrict importation of products including cheese with geographical indicators...

Something Canada has agreed to protect under CETA.

Not to mention we're technically in default of certain elements of ceta already.

No - not important to us as grain farmers.

This quote from the USTR however... If we agree to the same it means an end to distinguishing Canadian grain separately on the merit of higher quality.

To facilitate the marketing of food and agricultural products, Mexico and the United States agree that grading standards and services will be non-discriminatory, including for grains and that grading will operate independently from domestic registration systems for grain and oilseed varietals.

When CDN farmers struggle to sell and get a decent price for grain why do we want to import more?

No different to me than importing oil.
