US to Support Farmers During Trade War!

The US government on Tuesday announced a three-pronged $12 billion support program for American farmers to offset the harm caused by the US-China trade spat, says a story from Syngenta.

“This is a short-term solution to allow President (Donald) Trump time to work on long-term trade deals to benefit agriculture and the entire US economy,” US Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue said in announcing the package.

The USDA said the $12 billion in support is in line with the estimated $11 billion impact of the retaliatory tariffs on US agricultural goods.

And what is our idiot in Ottawa doing?

    Drop microphone!

    Dead silence.

Even though we have a 50% tariff on our products the PM does nothing.

This is the 1980s all over again.

Interest rates are rising every quarter and now 15 in 100 homeowners I believe are behind on their mortgage in cities more than three months.

    The USA protects their farmers.

Canada tells theirs to suck it up buttercup we have Syrians to save.

    Were are our producer groups.

    Drop microphone.

    Silence.

They feel it will go back to the old ways in time and better to do nothing and let farmers take the brunt but still pay a check off for their advise and help.

It's a F#$K3ed up country we live in.

Thank a Liberal it was Trudeau who told farmers #You expect me to sell your Wheat" Then gave us the finger.

Ah, history what every single person should read.

"Wah, wah, wah gimme more handouts" says a millionaire who already spends 6 months of the year on holiday. Personally I'd rather spend less money saving the lives of another of those white helmet Syrians.

See grass you just showed how stupid you really are.

As a Canadian now you cut down other farmers instead of looking at the big picture the USA is helping its farmers and Canadians will take it in the Ass.

You cut me down and don't explain anything.

It's not about me it's about all pea farmers in Canada.

Grow up and get a brain.

Look at what the Canadian gov is doing and our pulse groups.

      Nothing.

But yea it's all about me you Moron.

If he put up a argument I would love it but always bad bad Canadian farmer who travels and nothing else. Gets sickening really fast.

In the states they worry about primary producer first then the rest in canada its industry banks etc and producer last.

Any one want to argue that fact.

As long as the bills get paid they don’t care about you MR. Farmer

A lot of money goes to R&D...

Here is an interesting little factoid from my little farm.

In 2016 I used durum seed saved from the farm....strongfield I think....Complete wreck was sold for feed.

In 2017 I used the same seed that was left over....sold for a 1cwad no issues.

Environmental conditions have more impact than anything else.

would have spraying helped in 2016? NOPE because its was ****ed.

So why are we as farmers having our allotments from governments seized into R&D?

                Another factoid.

Side by side fields ...I sprayed my lentils once ...neighbor across road sprayed twice....same grade same yield....he was lighter the cost of spray.

Why the **** do we need higher yielding lentil varieties when no one is buying our product?

The R&D money should be reallocate to better and more pressing issues in Agriculture.

Just make sure it’s to one of his socialist utopia destinations like Venezuela that don’t have internet access for their citizens. 😂

I've said before some things are reminding me of the eighties.

I don't understand the disdain and intolerance for an opposing opinion. Even if he does a hell of a job as playing Devil's Advocate at times.

                          Sk3

                          You bring this upon yourself.

One post your meeting with the financial advisor discussing where to put money and the good advice he/she gave on buying the Florida house, and the next your looking for a government hand out.

Many on here feel there's a lot of lurkers on Agriville, I'm sure some of them are bureaucrats!

I see it as a cost to Trumps trade war which he started.Otherwise it was going to come back on him big time.Trump will now get a line up of other industries he has affected negatively because he thinks tariffs are the greatest.Looks like he is willing to take down the U.S.economy rather than come out being wrong.

Read and then explain as a Canadian farmer why trudeau and company shouldn’t look after us like steel producers.
