Every year “holy **** , where did all the wheat go”
And we heard that the world had a 2 year supply of wheat from “experts” that are supposedly on our side ? And some that we are paying a subscription to ?

If the last few years are any indication of the future, the "we're awash in wheat" will be back once combines start rolling. Right now there seems to be some uplifing(for producers with product to sell) news regarding droughts in europe, and australia, as well as moisture issues in some FSU areas where wheat is sprouting in the head. Seem some ugly pictures today of wheat heads with 2+" sprouts on them.

Seeing some pretty large yield estimates out of tours of South Dakota spring wheat areas though... Lowest i've seen was in the high 20's, plenty in the mid 40's and some in the high 60's. Anybody got a feel for what North Dakota looks like? Much like last year, there will be a scare pre-harvest, and when the bins and elevators start to take grain it'll tamp that down. But what does anyone really know. If australia's drought starts to seriously degrade the winter wheat crop, and the southern states doesn't recieve decent moisture this winter, the gloves could come off.

I brought that up a while ago...the world walks a tight rope when it comes to the world food supply....

Hand to mouth works well until there is nothing in the hand!

Its in the world governments best interest to keep the food supply flowing AND cheap.

There needs to be multi-country wheat cartels....control the movement and flow of it. Could you imagine...this is food in its most raw form. People could "get by" with a huge reduction in available oil but no one "gets by" without food. What power we wield and do nothing about it...besides, it would never be allowed to happen. WHY?... because it would get uglier than anyone could imagine.

                        Define "Freedom".

Farmers, under 2% of population could never hold the rest ransom, starve them. The armies would come take it all, then the state would try farming. Sorry the peasants can never run the place.

                              Local bids have rebounded nicely.

                              Maybe the market is aware...
