USA is exporting oil. Canada is importing oil from the Midlle East. Think about that. Canada's military is in Mali with freshly cut sticks. US military is being rebuilt with a new fleet of ships. Which dollar do you want in yr bank account... American or Canadian? Askin for the childrren. 😀 Pars

And your point is? We are still headed for a world wide depression courtesy of the doofus in chief Trump. No good can come of an all out trade war.

Big difference in attitude on both sides of border today. Canadians getting drug through mud and getting depressed on economy. Can't afford gas on this side anymore @ $1.50+/L. Worried how bad things could get to save face over a bunch of bovine tit pullers. Vacations and non-essential travel being cancelled. Minnesotans flying high and excited for the future. Tourists galore. All willing to take a little pain to MAGA. Regular gas $2.84, premium $3.21, clear diesel $3.24. It's like a party on one side and depression on other side. Yanks excited Canada can't use America as a dumping ground for their excess raw product anymore. You need us, we don't need you - is a common opinion.

Can just imagine what Canucks are thinking that live 100+ miles from border and can't buy cheap US fuel. Lots of unity flags waving before tariffs came in, see how many are doing the same in couple months. 5 days and already Canucks are pissed at Gropy McGroper.

It seems to me that some are hoping we fail at this just so we change the government. The more I see the more I think that was harpers deal. I hope I m wrong because what a loser if that's the case.

How about the western premiers get off their asses and approach the east and offer to cut sales of oil to the USA get the east to realize oil going to Europe will stop the USA in its tracks this one move would save the auto and dairy and what ever the hell else they want in exchange for the pipeline. In the end of that we re moving oil east and south always with the option to cut off the south movement.
Right now we can't do any bargaining with oil.

US market to the upside? I have a short position to buy back and trying to get the US market to decline is like trying to shove the dog into a sack.

I did, and also did some fact checking. Latest figures show that the US is exporting @1,750,000 barrels a day whereas Canada increased it's exports in the year to April by 6.5% to 3,300,000 barrels/day.

The US currently imports 886,000 barrels a day from Saudi Arabia which is more than 10 times what Canada imports from the same source.

Grassy, how many barrels of gas and diesel equivalent do we import from the USA?

                      :P

Plus we import 650,000 +/- BPD of oil.

We use 1.7 million BPD in our refineries.

                      And export 3.1 million BPD.

Now... Those numbers look decent. Except they don't affount for refined imports. Like the 150,000 litres a day going into Vancouver.

Trump tweeted "America is being RESPECTED again all over the world" Trade wars with just about every industrial nation in the world. Make America Great Again not according to the US Chamber of Commerce

"The US Chamber of Commerce, an advocacy group that represents more than t3 million American businesses, launched a new campaign on Monday designed to persuade policymakers and the public that the Trump administration’s increasingly aggressive trade policies represent a huge threat to the American economy."

Yes, of coarse Trump knows what he's doing according to his supporter's.

Trump will do anything to divert the attention away from the real issue of his dealings with Putin, Trump's puppet master.
