    Farmer organizations

Kudos to those on both sides of Canada-United States border who support open borders and free trade.
Not so many years ago we had farmer groups, especially south, who were less outspoken in support of trade.
Recall North Dakota wheat growers having special levy to fight Canadian wheat board sales into their country.
Also recall our wheat board using grower money to fight WTO agreement to limit powers of state trading agencies.
In latest Trump tariff proposals, grower commissions have pointed out value of trade rather than calling for retaliatory counter measures.
Exception may be Canadian Federation of Agriculture policy to support protection for supply management.

CFA has been irrelevant and out of touch as long as I can remember. No reason to think they'd be any different now.

Don't forget RCALF. Now the US has an administration that is RCALF's dream. Protectionist in the extreme - yet the "free marketers" on this forum love Trump and his policies. Contradictory much?
