New Study: Antarctic Ice Melting at Alarming Rate

Antarctic ice melt has increased in last decade, so much that in 600 years, if nothing else changes, the sea might rise a foot. Yep I said 600 years.

Arcticle just says that 80 “scientists”, it doesn’t say who hires them and pays them to preach that at this alarming rate we are in big trouble. The melting ice might raise the oceans a half a millimeter a year. Oh yeh, half a mill is less than 1/50 th of an inch. It would take more than 600 years to rise a foot, only if you dont take into account increased evaporation caused by global warming. There was no mention of increase in fresh water resulting from the increased evaporation.

Good grief, if I have to worry about 600 hundred years and cities that build right at ocean level, what a bunch of total garbage.

They use these scare tactics and Ordinary Joe in this world doesn’t even know what half millimeter is. How can you even measure sea level in such an minute amount? But the article leaves that part out. What total crap!

Someone has to realize the evaporation rates are high.

In lake diefenbaker evaporation is higher than all the irrigation combined....by a considerable multiple...

    Does no one think????

just last week Steve Williams ceo of Suncor slammed nonbelievers of climate change. He said how can you ignore science and facts. This was said to a pack hall of oil companies.

When you look at all of the science and all of the facts, and separate out the hype and predictions vs measurements, climate change is still real. Except it isn't accelerating, it's cause is debatable (and likely not provable), and certainly not due to any single factor, the net results are overwhelmingly positive, and societies with cheap plentiful energy are dealing with those consequences very successfully.

Suncor and many others have bought into the false premise of social license, it may work, so far, if the pipeline debates are any indication, it is failing miserably, all it is doing is adding another layer of cost to an already over burdened industry. Costs which our competitors have none whatsoever.

Williams is playing the game to keep the Fed money and subsidies flowing in his way .
Just like politicians, say and do whatever is the flavour of the day to try and stay with popular opinion .... “weather” right or wrong.

This whole despicable climate change scam is comparable to witchcraft and the power of the Catholic church during the dark ages. Rule by Fear in Midevil times gave the church enough power to tax (or tithe) what little money the peasants had. The movie, “The Name of the Rose” during my history class comes to mind. If people revolted, they were burned at the stake. See any parallels?

                    Bingo.

Need further parallels? Cap and Trade being the equivalent of the Sale of Indulgences.

The High Priestess of Weather, Climate Barbie, refuses to answer the question of how much impact her taxes will reduce CO2 emissions because it is impossible to make any science-based correlation.

The term witchcraft is fully justified.

the oceans are in real big trouble , I have saw it first hand , and all the idiots/deniers are out hunting the elusive global warming fairy tale instead while the oceans are dying a slow death
