Full fingered auger floating header question?

anyone have any tips on improving the feeding on a case 3020 full fingered floating auger header . in alfalfa , peas, red clover etc it is amazing , just put on ground and go . but on wheat and canary seed material wants to go around auger and plug hole . tried putting top stripper bars closer , but as with most 35 ft augers it's not completely true so can't run them to close . haven't tried bottom strippers yet . is it just the nature of the beast, why everone went to d****rs ? no one around here uses auger headers and dealers know nothing about them ?

We have an Agco 8200 flex (admitting to owning one of these is equivalent to admitting "pleasuring yourself"). Furrow talked abiut bolting on some kind of nylon strip where the rear stripper bar is. That way those long augers can flex up against it. I don't know how long the plastic would last.

Ours is full fingered as well but only use it for pulses and flax without problems....don't use it for cereals, so can't comment on the wrapping. One thing I will point out is the flighting on this auger is very deep...that might help the material from wanting to be carried around the auger??????

Furrow, do you use yours.in cereals?

We use our full finger flex in all the crops we grow. We have three stripper bars along bottom and back and it will still wrap in wheat because of non true drum. But each stripper bar helps a little. (last comment for farma). JD 630
