Still kicking here. there was three things that saved us here. Number one is that we have a lot of bush to the north west were we do are calving and keep are cow calf pairs. Number 2 is we have built a lot of cattle shelters over the years so calf's were able to take shelter also. Number 3 is that we were on the tale end of calving just had 2 during the storm a lot better than 15 to 20 we could of had if we were at are peak. we keep are yearling in pens outside of are tree line just feed lot style square pens with slabs they survived but if that were cow calf pairs not a chance. never seen anything like this truly know what its like when hell freezes over wouldn't wish it on anyone.

          ..

We got lucky. Every year we have a lull in calving that works back to when we processed and hauled to pasture. It landed right on the button. Only had one born in the storm, and that was in the barn. Nothing born in the couple of minus 30 nights that followed. The other 110 on the ground just parked their butts in the straw in the sheds and ignored their mothers trying to call them out. It was kind of noisy at night, but that''s just fine with us. lol Now they're back to work.

Now if we can just get through April without one of those dirty spring storms that seem to happen every year......
