    would like info on chick pea production what varieties ,maturity dates,chemicals,fert requirements, seeding rates, harvest practices, markets

    Check out these two articles on the web for information on chickpeas. This one is from Lee Melvill, Marketing Specialist Alberta Ag http://www.agric.gov.ab.ca/newsletters/market_clippings/9812.html and this one from Saskatchewan Ag. http://www.agr.gov.sk.ca/saf/farmfact/cdc1297.htm From what I hear, Kabuli chickpeas, the larger one, may have more market opportunity. But you need the climate to grow it. If you can grow corn, you probably can grow chickpeas.
