    severe weather

severe weather with hail is pounding areas in north west and must be causing major crop damage. Lets here some reports.

Here in West Central Alberta - most if not all the storms have gone over us or around us. Many areas around us are getting hit hard, with a lot of damage, but we get next to nothing. Take that big storm the other night at Wabamun - around Edmonton for those of you who don't know where it is - we got 2/10th of an inch, a light show and some thunder, but that is it.

In Rocky Mountain House, about 45 minutes West of me - some areas got about 2 inches last Thursday night, we could connect the dots with the rain drops.

Part of what is getting me increasingly frustrated is that they are out there seeding the clouds to break up the ingredients that make huge hail. This is being done on behalf of the insurance companies in order to keep payouts dow - not necessarily to help us out by avoiding having the actual crop damaged. What it ends up doing is often taking any moisture away with it, so then we have to draw on other forms of insurance to keep us going.

We keep getting more and more insurance poor as we buy farm insurance, crop insurance, drought insurance, hail insurance etc. and then there is always some way for the companies to find loopholes to not pay out.
