    Benchmark Crude Prices

If the Alberta price for crude is so low,

    see chart:
    http://alberta.ca/albertacode/images/Benchmark-Crude-Prices.pdf

why did gas prices just jump up 11 cents overnight?

I think it works the same way as the beef industry.
Record low prices for fat cattle didn't lead to record
low prices at the retail counter either.

I think it's shear fantasy to believe that gas prices
will return to levels we had 10 or 15 years ago.

Oil is priced on the markets as crude oil. Gasoline is priced based on being gasoline, and unleaded gas, and diesel is on its own page. Supply of oil, is completely different that the demand for gasoline, and diesel.

I see that some of the refiners and distributors are now putting summer diesel out on the market. Thats going to create an increase in demand for diesel.

        Clear as crude right?

PS...... Alberta heavy crude also costs more to refine, both in production costs, and the costs of infrastructure like the Heavy Oil Upgraders in Regina, Lloydminster, and Edmonton. What western canada needs is another refinery or two.
Parts of most of our refineries now are extremely inefficient, and need to be improved, or closed.

Sell the Americans the fuel, not the crude.

Free market is BS based, always was,
always is reality. Supply and demand.
Guess us gas users is demandin more and
more gas, hence huge price increase. Oil
has nothing to do with the price, to bad,
sooo sad for us suckers, eh! Heil Harper
