Putting ag money back in AG

The question is how could we best use money in the agriculture industry to make it sustainable?

We have spent lots on marketing, lots on studies, lots on academics, lots on government programs, lots on government buildings, lots on government departments.

What is needed by YOU the producers to make the industry better?

Your thoughts, suggestions etc. I would be interested in seeing a list of your thoughts for positive change!

Let start with conservation easements on an annual basis to take marginal land out of production like our american counter parts. If the public wants a safe place in which to live let the tax payer and the tourism industry fit the bill. Second start paying the farmer that takes steps to help the environment for his time. Third those intrusive surveys from stats-can, our time is worth money the information gathered by the powers that be is worth something , after all the person on the other end of the line is not volunteering their time to do their job. fourth elimintate land taxes, the land is a tool that we use for production. School teachers do not pay an annual tax on their computers mechanics do not pay it on their wrenches. There is segments of the government that research software tools for the industry. Those that are compiled by grants and universities and by civil servants should be made available to the industry at not cost as tax paoyers have paid to generate them. you say that the public should see a return on their investment well take these programs one step furthur to better managed farms that are more profitable.
